When it comes to unconventional food combinations and strange cocktail concoctions, we definitely do not have a shortage of these unique flavours that are created with adventurous foodies in mind.
But what if we tell you that there are two iced fruit teas currently going viral on Xiaohongshu (a.k.a “China’s Instagram”), and they are inspired by the wildly popular Heinz Tomato Ketchup?

Well, a high-end Chinese tea brand known as Lelecha (乐乐茶) that’s based in Shanghai, China, recently partnered with Heinz to come up with a duo of drinks that took plenty of references from its inspiration – from the ketchup flavour right down to the sauce packaging.

The two iced tea flavours in question? Tomato Cherry and Tomato Peach.

Both are said to contain zero artificial sugar, and the sweetness of the beverages comes purely from the fruits used in the concoction.

Allegedly packed with high amounts of vitamin C, the vibrant, colourful beverages are housed in a 350ml squeeze bottle that’s reminiscent of Heinz’s own ketchup bottle.

The only difference is the colours of the slushie-like drink and the sticker label on the bottle.

The tomato-based ice teas are said to taste really delicious and refreshing – perfect for our sweltering tropical heat, don’t you think?

Some netizens even said it’s a drink that’s not to be missed if you’re a fan of Heinz ketchup.

And let’s admit it, the tomato iced teas make for a perfect photo prop for the ‘gram too, don’t you agree?

Unfortunately, Lelecha and this tomato iced teas cannot be found here in Singapore. But perhaps, this could be an inspiration for our local teahouses to recreate this tomato iced tea but in your time and space, of course.

Alternatively, you can always DIY this refreshing fruity cocktail yourself to cool off on a sunny day – it doesn’t look so complicated to replicate if you ask us.
