This actual toy Superstar sneaker by LEGO and Adidas is the coolest thing we’ve seen so far

Adidas Originals and LEGO have been collaborating for some time now, launching a range of colourful lifestyle apparel and activewear for infants and children.

This year, the duo is back to launch the first-ever brick-built Superstar sneaker and it’s just the coolest thing we’ve laid eyes on this month. Yes, you read that right – it’s a toy sneaker constructed entirely out of LEGO bricks!

In this never-seen-before LEGO offering, you can recreate the iconic sneaker from toy bricks to make a collectible display piece that we’re sure will spark conversations. And while this version of the Superstar isn’t meant to be worn, it still features all of the sneaker’s signature details.

For starters, the set is instantly recognisable in the sneaker’s original “Cloud White/Core Black” colourway. Shimmering “Metallic Gold” branding plus the label’s trefoil logo and serrated three-stripe mark on the lateral profile and tongue further nod to the model’s retail version.

In addition to the heel tab, the iconic shell toe-cap has also been accurately recreated, just not out of durable rubber, of course.

Laces, however, are transplanted from the made-to-wear version, and for extra realism, the special-edition release also comes in an authentic shoebox!

Wondering if the brick model is built in a left-foot or right-foot orientation? Well, you get to decide on that because the set includes 17 extra LEGO elements so that you can choose to build either the right shoe or left – or get two sets to create a pair!

Looking at the images, the toy Superstar sneaker is definitely something that Adidas fans and LEGO lovers will appreciate. Even the LEGO team had a blast during the entire process of creating the brick model.

“As a kid of the ’80s and growing up in the ’90s, the Superstar sneaker with its rich street art culture was such an iconic item, and that’s also when I got my first pair”, said Florian Muller, senior designer of LEGO Group, in a press release.

Every little detail of the made-to-wear model is recreated on the toy version

“So when the collaboration with Adidas started, I was super excited to work on this model. As shoes represent very organic objects, made from a flexible material that also looks different for every person, it was a fun challenge to translate this into the LEGO System in Play, which by nature is square and blocky.

Thanks to the Superstar team at Adidas Originals, it’s been a super collaborative process with valuable insights shared about the art of shoemaking.”

The one-of-a-kind model measures over 12cm high, 27cm long and 9cm wide, and comes with a display stand and a plaque so that you can proudly display it alongside your awe-inspiring sneaker collection. Mixing in bricks from outside sets also works if you want to customise a model that is truly yours.
