For those who make it a point to snap the fireworks every new year, or want to attempt watching it from somewhere other than your television this year, we list five best spots where you can enjoy the spectacular light display this year at the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown:
1. One Fullerton
Where: 1 Fullerton Rd, Singapore 049213
For those who love a good view of the city skyline, head down to One Fullerton on New Year’s Eve. Here, you can see the iconic Marina Bay and Singapore Flyer in the background as the beautiful fireworks light up the sky, an ode to another year of Singapore’s modernisation.
While waiting for the fireworks display, or after the show is over, grab a drink at one of the bars along One Fullerton with your friends and celebrate the fact that you are going into the new year with people you love. Cheers to a better year ahead!
2. The Helix Bridge
Where: The pedestrian bridge linking Marina Centre to Marina South
This helix bridge is undoubtedly one of the most popular photo spots in the area. The 280 meters long pedestrian bridge features a spiral of lights and viewing pods that hang over the water for you to take the perfect photo of the fireworks display.
Be warned though: it may get very crowded due to the great view it offers, and standing space is limited (especially on the pods), so remember to go early and find a good spot!
3. Food Truck Fest @ Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza
Where: Centre of the waterfront Promenade at Marina Bay Sands
As most Singaporeans would agree, no celebration is complete without delicious food, so there’s no reason to go hungry while you enjoy the fireworks display!
Enjoy a delicious line-up of modern local food at the Food Truck Fest (part of Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2019), such as Coconut Gula Melaka Doughnuts (!!) from Plain Vanilla Bakery. Definitely one of our favourite ways to end the new year – on a tasty note!
4. Let’s Celebrate 2019 @ The Promontory
Where: 11 Marina Blvd, Singapore 018940
Think watching the fireworks is not much fun? Why not party with Mediacorp artistes and local acts such as Taufik Batisah, Gentle Bones, and Joanna Dong while you’re at it?
With good music, great entertainment, and a lively atmosphere, you may never want to watch the fireworks alone from home again.
5. Star Island Singapore Countdown Edition
Where: 20 Raffles Ave, Singapore 039805
For a fully wondrous fireworks experience like no other, you have to go to this ticketed multi-sensory fireworks musical that combines pyrotechnics and lights, 3D sound and performance acts.
At the stroke of midnight, catch the spectacular fireworks as they light up the whole of Marina Bay, and then you can dance the New Year morning away at the after-party.
