The new Shack will open on 1 December at noon, and will kick off Singapore’s first Great Shake Sale inspired by the American tradition of fundraising bake sales. Be one of the first 100 guests at the new outlet and you’ll also get the chance to receive exclusive swags.

This new outlet is located by the waterfront and features an alfresco dining area so you can look out to the waters and enjoy the picturesque view on a good day.

An art piece by local artist and illustrator Eeshaun is a highlight of its interior. The work is inspired by surrounding nature parks, beaches, waves, and the Sentosa cable cars and is hung prominently inside the restaurant.

Shake Shack VivoCity exclusives

As part of Shake Shack’s commitment to support local, the restaurant now carries the Sugee Boogie concrete, a collaboration with local bakery Mrs. Kueh, which is known for their Nonya kueh and classic cakes. Exclusive to the VivoCity Shack, this dessert features the iconic Shake Shack creamy frozen vanilla custard, blended with Mrs Kueh’s crumbly, slightly tart orange citrus sugee cake.

We tried this VivoCity exclusive and find that it has an unexpectedly harmonious synergy. We really didn’t expect the traditional Eurasian cake to go with the custard – but it works. This concrete is also less sweet compared to other ones we’ve tried, which makes it a good option for those who wants to indulge in a sweet treat but don’t really have a massive sweet tooth.

But if you’re looking for something conventionally indulgent, go for the Viva La Vivo, another VivoCity exclusive to check out. This Instagram-worthy Concrete is made of frozen vanilla custard, strawberries and crunchy sugar cone shards, finished with rainbow sprinkles.

This may be a tad sweet but is such a treat we didn’t have any problem finishing it.

The Great Shake Sale will kick off on 1 December

A Shake Shack initiative to raise awareness and funds to end childhood hunger in America, The Great Shake Sale began in 2012 and has gone global since 2014.

Singapore will be participating in The Great Shake Sale for the first time, and this campaign will run across all five Shacks between 1 and 6 December.

You can participate in this initiative by purchasing vouchers for the Christmas Cookie Shake (S$2), which are redeemable on the next visit. The limited-time-only fan-favourite Shake is made of sugar cookie frozen custard topped with whipped cream, crumbled shortbread, and holiday sprinkles.

All voucher proceeds will be go towards Children’s Wishing Well, a Singapore-based non-profit organisation supporting children and youth from low-income families. Their organisation helps their beneficiaries by assisting them with educational and daily living needs, as well as equipping them with skills for their future.

Apart from The Great Shake Sale, the VivoCity Shack is also involved in another charitable cause. As with all Shacks locally, 5% of sales from the Shack Attack concrete go to a charity partner. Shake Shack VivoCity’s selected partner is SOSD, a volunteer-run organisation dedicated to the welfare of local street dogs.

Shake Shack VivoCity opens on 1 December at noon, and will subsequently be open from 11am to 10pm daily. It is located at 1 Harbourfront Walk, #01-163/164 VivoCity, Singapore 098585.
