A 3-day itinerary for Nikoi Island: Part 2

This is part two in our series of itinerary recommendations for a 3-day/2-night trip to the nearby luxury private resort in Nikoi Island. Click here for part one of the series.

Day 2

Poolside pleasure

Take a breather from the beach and spend the day lounging at the pool. Located a short distance from the main lounge, the pool offers a breathtaking view of the ocean. While you relax on one of the many deck chairs, enjoy the breeze and sound of  waves crashing onto rocks. Of course, there’s a bar right next to the pool so you can get your tan with a piña colada in hand.

A stone’s throw away from the pool is the massage spa. This is where you can get traditional Indonesian massages, as well as other treatments like body scrubs. In-room massages are also available upon request.

Lazy lounging

The lounge is a place where weary beach goers retreat to for a tipple. There’s a library to indulge in some seaside literature, and satellite TV in place to keep you in touch with the world outside. I, on the other hand, chose to play chess with my partner.

Believe me when I say that you can spend half a day there just playing board games while having well-prepared cocktails. Nikoi Island is not just a place to relax – it’s also a place to reconnect with loved ones.

Return to nature

All the lounging around left me feeling restless, but I didn’t want to go back to the ocean, so I decided to take a trek around the island. Just beyond the swimming pool lies a path that is partially cleared for visitors.

During my short 30 minute trek, I was lucky enough to reach the mangrove at low tide. The water was tranquil, and the place looked beautiful.

Day 3

Bidding goodbye

We spent the final day of our trip engaging in more sea sports and more basking in the sun. Maximise your final day by taking the last boat back to Bintan at 3.10pm, before getting on the 5.10pm ferry back to Singapore.

That meant that we were able to do a final swim in the pool, paddle board and kayak and have a leisurely lunch before checking out on our own time.

A great break

After spending 3 days on Nikoi Island, I realised that the entire island was geared towards giving guests a great break. Its highly-attentive service crew, great food and well-constructed facilities really allows guests to just relax and have a ball. I’d recommend taking your family, or your loved one for a luxurious weekend on Nikoi to make wonderful memories and recharge with them by your side.
