Dive into the world filled with Moomin characters at the newly opened Moominvalley Park, located in Saitama Japan.
About an hour’s train or bus ride from Tokyo, this is the second Moomin theme park in the world and the first one outside of Finland. The park brings to life the place where Moomin characters live and play.

There are four zones in this 7.3 hectare theme park. The Welcome Cove (entrance), Moominvalley (where all the main attractions are), Kokemus (exhibition facility) and the Lonely Mountain (a forested area). There are also plenty of outdoor spaces for great photos and indoor facilities if you need to beat the heat.
Spot the life-size Moominhouse where the Moomin family live in.
Catch a show that features characters from the stories at an outdoor theater in the Moominvalley.

In the Lonely Mountain, there’s a playground where Moomin and friends go on their adventures. Kids and adults are both welcomed to have fun here.
The Kokemus is an exhibition space with interactive installations and display of storyboards, where you can get insights on what went behind the creator’s mind when creating the series. The merchandise store and cafeteria is also located in this facility.

There’s even an official hotel in the park where you can stay in a special Moomin room, surrounded by the characters and a stunning view of the park.
Reservation for the hotel is available online, but note that the site is only in Japanese.
