We’re talking about Hello Kitty Smile, located on the west coast of Awaji Island. There are three restaurants and cafes, a projection mapping theatre, and of course, a souvenir shop selling original Hello Kitty merchandise in this building.
The first thing you’ll definitely notice when you approach the building is the facade. A 11-metre tall Hello Kitty head stands out from the building that overlooks the ocean.
This is also the spot where you can get a great sunset view.

Restaurants in Hello Kitty Smile
- SMILE Restaurant is located on the second level of the main building, and is a buffet restaurant that serves local ingredients such as pufferfish. Prices start from ¥5,940. The restaurant is open from 11am to 8pm daily.
- SMILE Terrarce is located on the first floor of the building and is where you should head to if you want to dine as you look out to an ocean view.
- PARTY Balcony is a cafe that serves more than 40 types of tea from all over the world.
Hello Kitty Smile is located at 985-1, Nojima Hikunoura, Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture. It’s open daily from 11am to 8pm, except Tuesdays.
