In need of a short getaway that doesn’t include riding across the causeway? We know the feeling. Sometimes, you just need to escape the crowds to enjoy a good cup of coffee.
If that’s the case for you, we recommend taking a ferry over to Batam, instead! The once quiet fishing village is now quickly becoming a hot spot for some pretty great cafes that we guarantee will look amazing on Instagram.
Ready to find your next favourite (hipster) coffee joint? We know we are. Without further ado, here are the 12 best cafes in Batam you have to check out the next time you head over.

Do you guys know that there are many great health benefits from consuming matcha? It has many antioxidant properties and also helps to detoxify your body etcetera. And we use pure matcha powder for our Bingsu (not other kinds of processed and sweetened green tea powder) and that's why it has a slight bitter taste to it in our Bingsu! Photo credits to @wydia16 ! Thanks for the shot and hope you don't mind us sharing this pic! ?
Have an itch for your favourite Korean dessert that nowhere else seems to be able to scratch? Try out Half & Half, then, which is a dessert bar and café of sorts specialising in this popular dessert.
Not only is it one of the best ways to cool down, it also has a wide variety of great flavours such as Black Sesame and cheese?! Yup, we’re as intrigued as you are!
