So as year-end approaches, it’s understandable if you’re saving up for the ultimate Christmas present for yourself, or just want to splurge your year-end bonus on a luxury bag.
You might know the classics that you can pass on to your daughter, but what are the must-haves this season that might become classics in the future? We’re placing our bets on these it bags:
Bottega Veneta: Pouch
Bottega Veneta’s Pouch has won the hearts of celebrities, influencers, and fashion die-hards, and it’s easy to see why. The soft, handheld bag rocks a minimalist design and can easily be paired with various outfit styles. There are high chances of at least a month’s wait after ordering this bag, due to the high demand from both the young and the mature, but we think it’s worth the wait.
Oh, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Instagrammed this bag 39 times in three months. Need we say more?
Chloé C Leather Shoulder Bag
Chloé has a habit of creating cult bags and right now, there’s another bag from a popular line that shoppers and celebrities are clambering to get their hands on – and who can blame them when they look this good?
With its wide leather strap, classic C logo on the clasp, and brand new autumnal brown hue, this bag evokes a ever-popular retro aesthetic. The neat rectangular shape is all about making a statement and the detachable shoulder strap is useful to switch up your looks. Style it with an animal-print midi dress and leather heels for a boho-chic ensemble.
Staud Moon lizard-effect leather shoulder bag
Forget clutch, bucket and tote – bags of this year have expanded their shapes to incorporate modern art-inspired designs. This oval leather shoulder bag is one – neatly cut away to reveal a structured moon silhouette, it’s structured from lizard-effect leather with a neat top handle and dark-brown lacquered edges. It’s truly the perfect size to carry your phone, keys, wallet, sunglasses in Singapore’s heat, and even a snack (important)!
As a testament to the popularity and gorgeousness of this latest bag by Staud, here’s Kendall Jenner rocking it in the streets of New York:
The Staud Moon lizard-effect leather shoulder bag retails at USD295 (~SGD405) and is available online.
Fendi Logo Sheepskin Baguette
From the moment the classic Fendi Baguette bag was released in 1997, it became one of the most coveted designer bags on the market. Effortlessly chic, even celebrities have taken a liking to the various bags from this line – as seen during the 2019 New York Fashion Week Fendi Baguette Party:
Functional and fashionable, it’s lined with zippered pocket and can be carried by hand or worn cross-body thanks to the handle and shoulder strap, both detachable. A magnetic clasp completes the detailed look. Fendi’s most iconic bag now comes in luxe shearling form and we are so prepared for this one to take over our Instagram feed.
Christian Dior Book Tote Bag
Large carryall totes are making their return for fall 2019 on designer runways from New York to Paris.
Giant cross-bodies at Bottega Veneta and ultra-oversized totes at Prada are all the rage but our favourite has to be Dior’s book tote, now in an off-white and black embroidered canvas. For those that live out of their handbag or struggle to find the perfect carryall, the Dior Gods have heard our pleas and we can now look as fashionable as these celebs, who also love a good roomy bag.
The Christian Dior Book Tote Bag retails at USD3,000 (SGD4,018) and is available at Christian Dior online (not available in-stores at the time of publish).
Ralph Lauren RL50
The RL50 handbag, which was conceived in celebration of Ralph Lauren’s 50th anniversary, has already been seen on the arms of celebrities around the world.
Fusing the leather craftmanship and detailing in classic Ralph Lauren style, this bag is all things sophistication for the practical woman. With its belted body and curved top line, the design comes in four sizes (mini, medium, large and oversized) and is a timeless piece that can be dressed up or down.
The Ralph Lauren RL50 retails at USD2,200 (~SGD3019) and is available at Ralph Lauren online.
