BTS modelling Louis Vuitton’s latest menswear looks in a digital fashion video is proof that they’re IT boys in the fashion world too

To say that Korean band BTS has taken the world by storm may be a bit of an understatement, but we’ll say it anyway: BTS has taken the world by storm.

From their smooth-as-butter dance moves and mic drop-worthy vocals to dynamite visuals that are in their DNA, what’s there not to love about them?

It’s no wonder at all that brands are knocking on their doors, for a chance of repping them. However, BTS is known for resisting collaborations with any particular luxury brand, because they reportedly have always wanted to wear whatever they felt like.

Until now.

BTS models Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 21 looks in a 10-minute film

bts x louis vuitton looks

ICYMI, BTS became global ambassadors for Louis Vuitton in April this year. That’s right, the French luxury powerhouse has teamed up with the stylish septet and since then, BTS has been serving up some iconic LV looks both on the red carpet and off.

Catching the world by surprise this month, LV dropped a short fashion film featuring the guys from BTS in the latest Fall/Winter 21 menswear collection. We’ll save the words and let you check it out for yourself here:

Needless to say, watching these guys light up the screen is like pure magic.

Filmed in a grungy art bunker in Bucheon by Jeon Go-woon and Park Sye-young, the virtual fashion show is a gorgeous, futuristic film featuring all seven of the group in never-seen-before looks by Virgil Abloh.

Decked out in achingly cool looks from the collection (we swear we never wanted a monogrammed coffee cup till we saw V holding one), the boys strut through the bunker like literal royalty, navigating the maze of stairs sinuously.

Check out the individual looks below.

V

V’s broken the Internet with his smouldering gaze, reminiscent of everyone’s favourite drop-dead gorgeous Mafia bad boy Song Joongki as Vincenzo from the titular hit from Netflix that’s recently ended its run.

Black and red never looked so good, and we never knew we needed an LV emblazoned coffee cup will we saw this.

Suga

Looking like a cross between royalty and the world’s best-dressed flight steward, Suga brings the cool to the table with minimal effort. With a sash draped across his aeroplane-buttoned jacket and green-trimmed white kicks, he looks every bit the coolest king of the skies.

J-Hope

The iconic LV emblem is almost unrecognisable on this eye-catching, dramatic ensemble that main dancer J-Hope has on.

In a nod to the show’s global travel and connectivity theme, the navy and grey suit also includes a subtle map of the world in the design. And of course, J-Hope finishes his statement look with a pair of shiny red shoes to take our collective breaths away.

Jimin

Clad in a stone-textured suit that wouldn’t look out of place at all on Battleship Galactica, this sleek outfit donned by Jimin is the literal future of fashion, if we can say so ourselves.

And Jimin knows it, as he stares at you through his amber-tinted sunglasses, carrying his silver logo-embossed tote like the idol he is.

Jin

Gorgeous scarlet tartan checks on the equally gorgeous Jin? Yes, please! We never knew the red-and-green pairing could look good on anything other than a Christmas tree, unless you’re one of the BTS members, of course.

Looking so good definitely helps, but there’s just something about his aura that whispers “suave and smooth” in spite of the stark contrast in colours.

RM

If looking like a boss was a job, RM is definitely in the CEO’s seat. As the rapper for the group, his aesthetic tends towards hip-hop.

In his oversized black trench worn over a crisp pinstriped shirt and a cheeky crimson pocket square peeking out, RM’s outfit is a powerful statement. We totally dig the complementary hat, too.

Jungkook

Proving without a doubt that less is more, Jungkook’s outfit is clean, elegant, and attractive. Pinstriped shirt? Check. Black oversized trench with airplane buttons? Check.

All these makings for a gorgeous maknae? Check. Can we also confess that his matte black embossed weekend bag is what we all want for our off-duty shenanigans? It’s got the perfect mix of slouch and luxe.

Five times BTS proved beyond a doubt that they’re the best-dressed band in the world

If these 10 minutes of BTS’s magnetic presence isn’t enough, AVENUE ONE has rounded up another five of the band’s brightest fashion moments where all eyes were on them on stage or on the red carpet. BTS isn’t known to be the best-dressed band in the world for nothing.

2021 has been a big year for BTS, and being Louis Vuitton global ambassadors is just the icing on the cake. They showed up at the Grammy’s this year with their Grammy nomination warm in their deep pockets, kitted out in a killer brown and black ensemble that we can only hope will look just half as amazing on us regular folks.

If you ask us, it’s a masterclass in personalised tailoring, with each outfit subtly expressing individuality whilst staying true to the group’s aesthetic for the night. From RM’s camel hoodie suit giving a nod to his love for hip-hop to J-Hope’s flamboyant flower lapel speaking volumes about his penchant for the dramatic, each of their individual personalities really shines through.

Understated never looked more eye-catching than on BTS on the Grammy’s red carpet in 2020. The seven were a soothing sight for sore eyes indeed in their sleekly tailored Bottega Veneta menswear, in a neutral palette of black, grey, beige, tan and cream.

We are so sold on their monochromatic turtle necks worn under elegant outercoats (with Jimin sporting a majorly cool colour-blocked leather topper), proving without a doubt that less is sometimes more.

Making musical history seems to be just another regular day in the life of BTS, just as looking so good all the time seems to be absolutely effortless. The group swept top honours at the Golden Disc Awards in 2020, showing up in striking Givenchy get-ups for the annual event.

All eyes and ears were certainly on the seven of them, from V’s luscious floral overcoat that wouldn’t look out of place in a fairytale to Jin’s baby pink blazer that really popped against his bandmates’ darker outfits.

In a partnership with Dior that’s been said to be a game-changer for luxury brands, BTS wore custom-made stage clothes by the talented Kim Jones, for their 2019 world tour. Jones reveals that he worked closely with each of them to create their costumes, taking into consideration the band member’s unique style preferences and individual tastes.

The septet was stylishly togged out in chic utilitarian sportswear silhouette as they delivered literal show-stopping performances all around the world. Cargo pants, harnesses, bomber jackets and saddle bags never looked cooler.

BTS in Prada is a sight for sore, bloodshot eyes. The seven men coordinated their looks in tonal gothic shades ranging from charcoal to black to crimson, channelling some vampiric vibes but looking drop-dead gorgeous while at it.

Check out V’s statement blood-red fuzzy sweater worn oh-so-tastefully over a crisp white shirt and pintuck blazer. If anyone can pull off vampire chic rather than deathly ill, it’s BTS.
