About Demon Slayer

For the uninitiated, Demon Slayer is the winner of the “Best Animation” at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2022 with 150 million copies of the manga sold worldwide.

Demon Slayer is an action-filled fantasy that begins with Tanjirou Kamado, who has carried the weight of supporting his family on his shoulders since his father’s death. Despite living in poverty on a remote mountain, the Kamado family lives a relatively peaceful and happy life.

Tanjirou decides one day to walk down to the neighbouring village and sell charcoal to get some money. When he goes home the next day, he discovers that his whole family has been murdered. Worse, his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed, is the only survivor.

Tanjirou, overwhelmed by rage and anger, decides to get revenge on his family and defend his only remaining sister. He will go to any length to fight the demons and protect the remaining traces of his beloved sister’s humanity alongside the enigmatic Demon Slayer Corps.

The manga, written and drawn by Koyoharu Gotouge, was later taken up by Japanese animation company Studio Ufotable. The anime series ran two seasons between October 2019 and February 2022, with the introduction of the latest project following the completion of the second season.
