Children’s Season 2022 The Night is Young

june holiday activities 2022

There’s something extra magical and mysterious about visiting a museum after hours, and that’s what your kids will get to do during this year’s Children’s Season, the first-ever one to take on a night theme.

Children’s Season 2022, titled The Night is Young, is presented by the National Heritage Board and the Museum Roundtable, and runs from 28 May to 26 June. It aims to educate children and their families about Singapore’s heritage and culture, and in a whole new way, with museum programmes that are held both during the day and at night.

Artefacts Alive! is one of the programmes that will let you and your kids take to the museums after dark, to enjoy night-time storytelling and craft sessions at the Asian Civilisations Museum, Indian Heritage Centre, as well as the National Museum of Singapore.

Kids get to listen to storytellers tell tales that are inspired by the museum’s artefacts, and even create their own glow-in-the-dark handicraft at the end of it. The programme run across five Saturday evenings from 28 May to 25 June – you can register here.

Another programme your kids can enjoy this Children’s Season is Night at the Gem Museum, held at The Gem Museum every Friday evening (7pm – 10pm) for the month of June. Kids can feel like adventurers searching for hidden treasures as they explore the museum and discover its luminescent gemstones using UV and LED torches.
