Parenthood is rewarding, but it can also be exhausting.
In order to avoid experiencing a burnout, we’d recommend that you take a break from time to time, and leave your kids in the hands of a trustworthy babysitter so that she can help take some load off of you.
This will also give you some time to rest.
However, this then begs the question of who you should hire to babysit your kids. We’ve all heard horror stories, and so we’ve decided to put together a list of well-known babysitter agencies and platforms in Singapore so that you can sift through them before deciding on one.
Babysitter Singapore agencies
NannySOS is a professional confinement nanny agency that has been helping mothers since it was established back in 2011. It offers 24-hour stay-in nannies and daytime confinement nannies to help mothers recover fully after childbirth, and it also has daytime nanny services and part-time babysitters for hire.
With more than 100 confinement nannies who are professionally trained and have at least three years of experience, NannySOS is certainly a great place to consider when you’re looking to hire a babysitter for your infant, toddler or your child in primary school. You can choose to drop your little one off at the babysitter’s house, or arrange for the babysitter to babysit at your home.
Rates begin from S$800 a month for daytime nanny services where the nanny takes care of your child for 10 to 12 hours on Mondays through Fridays. If you’re just looking for a babysitter who can take care of your child for a couple of hours while you run a few errands, you can consider hiring a part-time babysitter for S$25 an hour with a minimum of three hours per assignment.
NannyPro is dedicated to offering trusting and nurturing babysitters to help you with taking care of your precious child as you rest or head back to work. Babysitters go through a stringent screening and onboarding process before they are allowed to take on any assignments to ensure more reliability.
Once you send in a request for a long-term babysitter, NannyPro will match your requirements to a suitable nanny they have on hand. You will then be shown a few candidate’s profiles to choose from, and once you’ve decided on one, you can proceed with a three-day paid work trial for both you and the babysitter to establish trust and confidence. This trial period will also enable you to assess her suitability in taking care of your child. If the trial is satisfactory, you can then continue to engage her on a regular permanent working arrangement.
For ad-hoc babysitters, there will be no trial period, but do note that there will be an additional 20% on the nanny’s gross fee if an urgent request is made within 48 hours.
NannyPro’s full-time babysitter rates start from S$2,500, while their ad hoc babysitting rates range from S$25 to S$40 an hour with a minimum four-hour booking. If you intend to hire babysitters from NannyPro regularly, a preferential rate will be applicable.
BBnanny offers both babysitting and nanny services that will take care of your every need. BBnanny’s babysitting services range from S$2,000 to S$3,000 a month, where the babysitter takes care of your child from 8am to 6pm on Mondays through Fridays. If you’re looking to hire on an ad hoc basis, do note that a minimum of four hours is required for the assignment to be accepted.
