When the 163-year-old iconic department store announced its closure last year, many locals were filled with grief not only from the job losses but also because it was the end of an era for Singapore’s physical retail scene.
But just this morning, Robinsons has officially announced its return to our sunny shores – this time as an e-commerce store called Robinsons Online.
Relaunching as a fully digital, state-of-the-art, vertically integrated online department store, the beloved brand will go live on 24 June.

It will offer Singaporeans a curation of over 200 brands including some familiar names, some homegrown ones, and some that are completely new to the market. Customers can also look forward to exclusive collaborations debuting on the new platform.
Robinsons Online will be headed by Mr Jordan Prainito, the former Managing Director of Canningvale Australia, the fastest-growing homeware brand in Australia. He plans to catapult Robinsons into the public eye with an extremely user-friendly, perfectly curated website that will provide a safe and secure checkout process.
He also has plans to hire Singaporeans to fill various positions across the business so that Robinsons will remain firmly in its homegrown roots.
According to the Australian Financial Review (AFR), there are already plans to launch Robinsons Online in Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries if all goes well.
