Recently, we took the new Omni-glide for a spin and irrevocably proclaimed that it was the best vacuum yet. But, Dyson hasn’t been resting on its laurels since launching the Omni-glide.
Standing at a mere 207 x 220 x 1,200mm (W x L x H), the Dyson Micro 1.5kg is the brand’s lightest cordless vacuum – and it also happens to be one of the cheapest in the brand’s lineup.
As hinted in the name, the device clocks only 1.5kg in weight, perfect for everyday quick cleaning on hard floors – but its cleaning performance is anything but light.
Promised by Sir James Dyson himself, this revolutionary device is capable of achieving “99.99% filtration, no loss of suction, and superior cleaning performance”. What this means is that Dyson engineers have carefully adjusted every element of the vacuum so that it does not compromise portability or power.
Starting with the vacuum’s Dyson HyperdymiumTM motor, it features a re-engineered circuit board with thicker copper windings to deliver optimal performance despite the light battery (which provides up to 20 minutes of runtime).
The machine also includes Dyson’s smallest cyclone pack ever, with eight cyclones carefully tweaked to maximise airflow and suction – capturing particles as small as 0.3 microns. And instead of shrinking the filter, the bayonet fitting is miniaturised to make room for all 1.6m of the filter and deliver the same advanced filtration as the larger models.
As for the cleaner head attachment, it comes with an all-new version that is only 207mm wide, which makes it 45% smaller than the Dyson V11’s, to reach further into tight spaces.
Lastly, for comfort, the Dyson Micro 1.5kg has been ergonomically designed with two-button control for seamless, easier cleaning as well as a balanced weight around the handle to feel even lighter in the hand.
The Dyson Micro 1.5 comes with two tools, including a mini motorised tool to tackle hair and ground-in dirt and a combi-crevice tool, so that you’re able to clean in all directions.

- The wall dock: enables users to lean the machine into the recharging dock, ready for the next clean.
