Get your popcorn ready to catch all the TV shows and movies that are coming to Disney+ this June

Although cinemas remain open, the current precarious COVID-19 situation is resigning most of us to our couches. Luckily for us couch potatoes, we have something to look forward to this month as Disney+ has released its full lineup of widely anticipated TV shows and movies for the month of June.

From Pixar’s Raya and the Last Dragon to the debut of Marvel series Loki, the Disney+ library is about to be nothing short of impressive. So, sit back, grab your calendar, and save these dates.

To get you started, we’ve rounded up a few titles worth bingeing.

Loki

The main star of June’s lineup is none other than Loki. Revolving around mercurial Asgardian God of Mischief, this new series occurs right after the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character and is accompanied by renowned actors Owen Wilson and Richard E. Grant, award-winning actresses Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku, as well as newcomer Sophia Di Martino.

From what we’ve seen from the trailer, Loki appears to be caught up in some sort of time travel trouble, putting him in the crosshairs of a mysterious organisation known as TVA (Time Variance Authority).

With time travel involved, it raises many burning questions. Is the trickster God responsible for Marvel’s multiverse problem? Will we see the X-Men? Will Loki meet his brother again? Get your dying questions answered when this six-episode series premieres on June 9.

Raya and The Last Dragon

Need an escape from reality? Look no further than Raya and The Last Dragon, which will bring you on an adventure into the fantasy world of Kumandra. Voiced by Kelly Marie Tran, Raya is a strong female warrior who has to track down the last legendary dragon and restore peace to the land and its people.

Also starring other prominent Asian actors like Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, and Isaac Wang, this animated film with a strong Asian-led cast is certainly one to watch and celebrate as it is Disney’s first movie that’s inspired by Southeast Asia. Be sure to catch it on Disney+ this June 4!

Luca

If you’re a fan of Call Me By Your Name, you will definitely love Luca.

Also set in northern Italy, this children’s flick is a coming-of-age story about two best friends Luca and Alberto spending an unforgettable summer together. However, there is one twist: they are both sea monsters from a world below the water’s surface.

Featuring the voices of Jacob Tremblay and Jack Dylan Grazer, Luca is definitely a film for all, teaching about the need for inclusion and respect. The film premieres on Disney+ this June 18.

Wolfgang

To all foodies and cooking fanatics, prepare your tissues and get ready for a candid, inspiring, and emotional documentary of legendary chef, Wolfgang Puck.

Documenting his true-life story, the film chronicles the man’s troubled childhood and his resilient journey to become one of the most prolific chefs of our times.

The documentary perfectly encapsulates the “American Dream” while showcasing the power and strength of the human spirit. To see how Puck got where he is today, catch the premiere on June 25.
