When earbuds were first made popular by Apple’s AirPods, I jumped onto the bandwagon. After all, these discreet and light headphones are pocket-friendly and stylish to boot. And as a bonus, even earbud cases are super duper adorable.
But very quickly, I found that I didn’t like them that much. Compared to headphones, the earbuds I’ve tried don’t cancel out noise as well and deliver poorer audio quality. But the deal breaker has to be that their microphone functions are usually horrible, making it difficult for them to double up as a work companions.
These had eventually made me give up on earbuds altogether, finding only utility for them when I go for jogs.
1MORE ColorBuds True Wireless Headphones review
Just as I was about to say adios forever to earbuds and stay faithful to my trusty headphones, I found out about 1MORE ColorBuds True Wireless Headphones.

Unlike brands like Apple, which are primarily a tech expert, 1MORE is first and foremost an audio brand. Having a strong history in making headphones, all of their audio devices are built with ANC microphones that can help to effectively suppress ambient noises. 1MORE has also worked with Luca Bignardi, a sound engineer with four Grammy Award wins under his belt to expertly tune the headphones for 1MORE.
And these accolades speak for themselves as the superior audio quality (compared to other earbuds I’ve tried) is one of the first things that I noticed when I put on the 1MORE Colorbuds. Considering how lightweight it felt and looked (6.4g for each side), I was definitely pleasantly surprised by how well it performed in the sound department.
Other than delivering crisp highs and punchy bass, they also cancel ambient noises well; I would have to remove the earbuds each time my husband tried to talk to me (which is kind of annoying, but it’s not the earbuds’ fault).
Even with its strong audio background, these earbuds also check all the right boxes in the style and convenience aspects.
The first thing anyone would notice would certainly be its sleek design and gorgeous range of colours it comes in: Midnight Black, Twilight Gold, Sakura Pink, and Spearmint Green. They are housed in a case with beautiful curves in a similar colour.
Convenience is another key word that shouts out to me as I reviewed these earbuds. The pairing of the earbuds to my device was absolutely seamless. In fact, I didn’t have to go through any waiting time at all. Between the time I open the case lid to the time I put them into my ears, it would have synced up with my device and ready to be used.
Another nod towards convenience is its fast-charging capability. Fully charged earbuds support six hours of usage, and if you need to re-charge, a quick 15-minute charge will give you another two hours of use.
Controls can be done with simple taps and removing the earbuds will automatically pause the video you’re watching or the music you’re listening to – all of these features make the 1MORE Colorbuds very intuitive to use.
As if these are not enough, the 1MORE Colorbuds are also sweat- and water-resistant. This means that while you can’t swim with them, they’re still going to perform as well as they did if you perspired a lot during your workout or are subjected to a short and light drizzle.
But the most important feature of all for me is its superior microphone. I was able to use it effortlessly at all my video conferences. While I previously had to struggle with voice quality, having to repeat myself or speak louder at meetings, my experience with the 1MORE Colorbuds has been nothing but amazing. I was able speak normally and nobody had any trouble hearing me.
All in all, these are certainly the best earbuds I’ve tried and I’ll recommend them to anyone who is looking for a quality and stylish pair of earbuds. A summary of what I loved about it:
