Muji fans will be thrilled to hear this: Muji Hotel is finally opening in Japan, in a new 10-storey global flagship store.
Following the Japanese lifestyle brand’s first two hotels in Shenzhen and Beijing, Muji Hotel Japan will open its doors on 4 April, housing a total of 79 rooms in the five-storey building. Although they’ve yet to release photos of how the rooms look like, but it’s expected to be similar to their counterparts in China – a minimalist aesthetic and everything Muji, from furniture to lifestyle necessities. Reservations will be available from today on their official website.
The new global flagship store will be opened with the hotel on 4 April, replacing the current Yūrakuchō Store. 10 stories tall, this is exactly where you can get a full-fledged Muji experience – eat, sleep and shop all things Muji. .
B1 – Muji Diner
Similiar to the Muji Cafes, this diner will be opened to public, and will serve meals cooked with ingredients sourced from Japan. One can indulge in the most authentic Muji taste and enjoy a homely and hearty meal here.
1F – Supermarket, bakery, juice and tea bar
Yes, a Muji supermarket! Get seasonal fruits and vegetables harvested in Japan or participate in a tasting session held daily, where customers get to learn how these crops were grown and the secret behind them tasting so good.
You’ll also find the Muji bakery, juice bar and a tea blending service, serving serve authentic Japanese pastries and drinks, all in level 1.
5F – Muji Support
On the fifth floor is a consultation service called Muji Support, where the staff will help you solve “any annoyances in your home”. It sounds like they’ll most likely be helping you out on your storage concerns or providing aesthetic advice, but Muji actually said they even “have advisors who could visit your home to help you replace light bulbs, clean the blinds, and resolve any other annoyances in your home”.
6F – 10F Muji Hotel and Atelier Muji Ginza
The sixth storey is the hotel lobby and also a multi-purpose facility for design and culture called Atelier Muji Ginza. The space will house exhibitions of craftwork and design, a salon where people can talk over coffee or drinks, a library accommodating books related to design and arts, and a lounge for events and workshops.
