6 storeys at Takashimaya will be committed to a greener retail experience – including attractive perks to snag!

Earth Day is happening on 22 April this year so it seems apt that Takashimaya Department Store has introduced a more eco-conscious retail experience as it unveils a series of new sustainability-focused programmes and activities, which will take place between 1 April and 31 May.

You can look forward to activations that help you “shop greener”, eco-conscious brand offerings, and an eco-food bazaar that helps you eat and shop more sustainably.

Art with a Heart x ITE College Central (2 April – 18 May)

To kickstart Takashimaya’s environmental efforts, a total of 164 Nitec in Visual Communication students from ITE College Central came together to create a huge art banner on loving and saving the earth.

This huge art piece is placed at the front of Takashimaya Department Store’s first level main lobby and is open to the public for viewing from 2 April to 18 May.

Plastiko Campaign (1 April – 31 May)

This campaign offers exciting activities and rewards across different departments to encourage sustainable living. Here are perks you can enjoy from participating brands.

Pigeon

Purchase selected Pigeon nursing bottles at a discounted price when you trade in any of your old milk bottles of any brand.

Paris Miki

Have old spectacles lying around the house? Bring it to Paris Miki to be upcycled and get a S$20 voucher in return, to be used with the series of frames that are made of wood. Limited to the first 20 customers, so you might want to head down asap!

Fresh Beauty

Not sure what to do with your empties? Bring them down to the Fresh Counter at Takashimaya and give the bottle a new life by making it a planter box, where you can grow your own plants! Additionally, spend a minimum of S$300, which consists of at least one Fresh item, and enjoy a complimentary gift wrapping service.

Sulwhasoo

Monica Vinader

In an effort to encourage consumers to wear their jewellery for a longer period of time, to reduce consumption, the brand is extending its warranty period from two years to five years, for all their products purchased within the stated event period. What a thoughtful action to take!

  • At Level 4, shop for eco-friendly activewear and apparels from brands such as Adidas, Speedo, and Seafolly
  • Also at Level 4, there will be eco-friendly children essentials parents can get for their little ones

Let’s Get Phygital (12 April to 25 April)

As much as we all enjoy taking a slow stroll in the Takashimaya Department store and seeing the various things they have to offer, it would be nice to shop online too, to avoid crowds.

As such, from 12 April to 25 April, Takashimaya will be adding shoppable links on their social media pages where shoppers can simply purchase their favourite items from the respective brands on the Takashimaya website.
