Here’s what you can expect in the final weekend of Shilin Night Market event in Singapore

After a successful run in its inaugural debut last year, Shilin Night Market was poised for its second-year set-up this year even before the pandemic threw the world a giant curve ball. Well, that didn’t stop the pop-up’s organiser Invade – which is also behind Artbox and Eatbox – from pulling the plug on Shilin Night Market though; instead, it is now back and has been made entirely online to bring the sights, sounds, and tastes of Taiwan to Singaporeans to enjoy in the comfort of their homes!

Almost everything in our lives can be experienced virtually now, so why not a night market, right!?

Running for two back-to-back weekends this month, you can expect the same night market-vibrancy digitally translated to this year’s Shilin Night Market Singapore.

Eat to your heart’s content

To satisfy your cravings for delicious Taiwanese fare, Shilin Night Market has curated 15 local and Taiwanese vendors such as D’bun, Happy Ending Pizza Parlour, Tea Valley, and many more to offer the best of Taiwanese, local, and fusion flavours, cooked-to-order for delivery via Pickupp, the pop-up’s official delivery partner.

We are salivating just thinking about D’bun’s signature Truffle Braised Pork Belly Rice, a modern twist on the classic lu rou fan.

Don’t miss out on scoring some scrumptious pineapple tarts from Chia Te Bakery too, we promise you won’t stop at just one! To avoid potential delivery congestion, all orders of pre-packed Taiwanese delicacies and souvenirs will be handled by iCarry to keep them separate from the cooked-to-order items.

Play and win exclusive prizes

But how exactly do you let people play and have fun at a digital market? Well, Shilin Night Market managed to crack the code with various digital games and fun social media challenges that you can play digitally and win shopping vouchers and exclusive memorabilia!

A line-up of delightful performances and shows

To keep you entertained, there are hosted variety shows and performances from budding local artists and regional creatives lined up all weekend long, as well as cooking segments live-streamed for your viewing pleasure.

Tune in to the main stage hosted by Mediacorp artist Lee Teng, and be serenaded by local talents such as mandopop duo Cha Ban Sheng, Nat Wu, Yokez as well as Taiwanese singer Caryson Huang!

There’s also entertainment provided by SGAG and GOMO by Singtel, and even a workout session with Jamie Teo to help you burn off the additional calories from all the Taiwanese delicacies – how thoughtful!

Shop until you drop all day long

Meanwhile, the pop-up has partnered with Shopee for this year’s retail therapy where you can shop a variety of artisanal crafts and your favourite souvenirs through auction-style live streams.
