20 activities to do during your Sentosa staycation

With travel restrictions in place, the closest we can get to a “getaway” is probably a staycation in Sentosa. Previously a popular spot among tourists, Sentosa offers a ton of activities that you can go for while you’re on your staycation.

We know you are already familiar with the Universal Studios and S.E.A Aquarium. Here are 20 activities in Sentosa curated by AVENUE ONE that we thought you may be surprised by.

For adventure seekers

Mega Adventure

activities-sentosa-staycation-Mega-Adventure

If you’re up for some outdoor adventure, check out the Mega Adventure located along Siloso Beach Walk. Here, you’ll find Asia’s number 1 zipline, which spans 450m, where you can zip across Siloso Beach up to the speed of 60 KpH – an exhilarating experience no less! However, if zipline isn’t your cup of tea, you have the option of Mega Bounce, where you get to leap up to eight metres and pull off stunts and flips on their bungy trampolines.

Get tickets to Mega Adventure here. Prices will vary depending on whether you’re going for Megabounce or Mega Zip.

AJ Hackett

For the ultimate adrenaline-seekers looking for an added thrill in the outdoors, check out AJ Hackett.

We have to preface this by saying that this attraction is not for the faint-hearted. AJ Hackett offers visitors the experience of Singapore’s one and only Bungy Jump. You will take a literal step (or flip) of faith at the height of 47m and get to experience your heart drop for a good 2.5 seconds, all in good fun! Coupled with AJ Hackett’s in-house technology, you can capture this experience of a lifetime in a social media-ready video, and keep this memory close to your heart years down the road.

AJ Hackett also offers a package that includes 1 Skybridge ticket, perfect for folks who would like to challenge and overcome their fear of heights. Folks can see the Skybridge as a prelude to prepare themselves for the Bungy Jump. And if the height of 47m simply does not sit well with you, perhaps you can swing into your day out at Sentosa in style with AJ Hackett’s Giant Swing. Not only can you reach up to a speed of 120km/hour, but you’ll also get to overlook the view of Siloso Beach!

Tickets to the Bungy Jump can be found here for S$69.
Tickets to the Bungy Jump and Skybridge can be found here for S$86.
Tickets to the Giant Swing can be found here for S$49.

HydroDash

If you prefer water over land activities, Sentosa doesn’t disappoint as well!

The HydroDash, conveniently located at Palawan Beach, is Singapore’s first floating aqua park. The park offers four play zones, including obstacles courses, a three-metre springboard, and a slide off the Action Tower. It’s basically the perfect combination of adrenaline and fun in the water.

Purchase your tickets for an afternoon of splashing fun and delight here.

iFly

Just because we’re unable to travel overseas to skydive, it doesn’t mean we have to abandon the idea of skydiving entirely. Especially with iFly, one of the world’s largest indoor skydiving wind tunnels, here’s your opportunity to experience all that thrill skydiving has to offer.

Get to experience true free-fall conditions – you’ll feel as though you’re really falling through the air from 12,000 feet to 3,000 feet!

The only difference? You’ll be safer under the supervision of certified professionals. What’s more, iFly costs one-fifth of a tandem jump – so you’re essentially getting a similar experience for a fraction of the usual price.

Get your tickets to this value deal here.

Skyline Luge

One attraction that never gets old in Sentosa has to be the Skyline Luge. Available in the day and night time, visitors will get to experience the Luge in vastly different yet similarly thrilling ways. There are four trails available: Dragon, Expedition, Kupu Kupu, and Jungle, all of which are designed with exciting turns and corners for an exciting ride.

Right now, Klook is offering several bundles that include the Skyline Luge and other attractions. Check out the value bundles here.

Siloso Beach/Palawan Beach/Tanjong Beach

For all the beach bums out there, what is a staycation at Sentosa without a visit to the beach?

The great news is that Sentosa has three notable beaches for you to choose from.

Need our recommendations?

Siloso Beach is known as the thrill-seeker’s playground, as its nearby activities include AJ Hackett, Mega Adventure Parks, and iFly. If you can’t decide whether to indulge yourself in some adrenaline-inducing fun or if you simply want to be under the sun, Siloso Beach will be perfect for you.

On the other hand, Palawan Beach is touted as the family-friendly beach, where its lagoons are safe and open for a relaxing swim. Visitors will also have the opportunity to climb up the watchtower to observe ships pass by, ideal for winding down after a long day of fun.

Finally, there’s Tanjong Beach, the grown-up beach, where the renowned Tanjong Beach Club is located. This beach is also a popular spot for sports such as yoga paddle, Ultimate Frisbee, and beach volleyball. Party-lovers and sportspeople, this is your go-to beach!

However, take note that registration is required at these beaches on weekends. You can make an online reservation in order to skip the queues.

Bikini Bar

A day at the beach is guaranteed to have your stomach rumbling by noon. At Sentosa, you can rest assured you’ll find good food just about anywhere you go.

If you’re near Siloso Beach, there is the Bikini Bar. They aim to bring the likes of Bali beach bars to Sentosa’s shores and we dare say they’ve done it. This bar brings a good mixture of laid-back energy and an upbeat spirit. Those who are up for a fun beach game can enjoy a few rounds of beer pong but if you just want to lie back and enjoy some delicious bar bites, they’ve got nachos, tacos, and even satay!

Check out their menu and ongoing promotions here and make your reservations today!

Ola Beach Club

If you’re an avid Instagram user, chances are, you’ve probably seen friends chilling at yet another beach club – Ola Beach Club.

This Hawaiian-inspired club is also located at Siloso Beach and takes on an entirely different vibe from the Tanjong Beach Club and the Bikini Bar. Ola Beach Club is home to a slew of water sports, where visitors are given the chance to ride the Sentosa waves with activities such as the Jetblade and Jetpack. The beach club also has a unique take on beach bites with a menu that includes Hawaiian-inspired fare such as the Kalua Pork Pizza, and a variety of Tiki cocktails to wash down the delicious fare.

For those who want photos for the ‘gram

Fort Siloso

Fort Siloso, also known as Pulau Blakang Mati, is Singapore’s sole remaining well-preserved coastal fort from World War II. Unlike any other attraction in Singapore, Fort Siloso is sure to satisfy the inner history buff in you. The fort-turned-museum offers a clear glimpse into Singapore’s past as visitors get to explore underground tunnels, ammunition stores, and gun structures. It is open daily from 9am – 6pm and the exhibits open at 10am.

This historical site is also a popular spot for taking great Instagram photos, so don’t forget to drag your Instagram buddy along.

Usually, you can make your way to the fort through a trek from the Fort Siloso Skywalk, a treetop trail that’s 11 storeys above ground. However, the skywalk is temporarily closed for maintenance. So do take note and hop on to the free Fort Shuttle from the Skywalk lift lobby to Fort Siloso instead. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes between 9am – 6pm.

Madam Tussauds

Gone are the celebrity meet-and-greet sessions – for many of us, Netflix seems to be the only place we get to see our favourite celebrities and stars. That doesn’t have to be the case with the Madam Tussauds museum!

In the museum, you’ll get to capture selfies with wax figures so realistic, it’s hard to believe! Famous (wax) celebrities include Cristiano Ronaldo, Lady Gaga, and Shah Rukh Khan. Beyond wax celebrities, there’s also the Marvel 4D Cinema, bringing you closer to your favourite Avengers.

Purchase your ticket to the Madam Tussauds museum here.

Trick Eye Museum

If museums are your thing but you’re not keen to meet your favourite celebrities for now, the Trick Eye museum is available as well. Capture mind-boggling photos and challenge your imagination with optical illusion artworks unique to the Trick Eye museum in Singapore. With the museum’s very own Augmented Reality Technology (AR:T), you’ll find yourself immersed in sounds, lights, and other effects, alongside these exhibits.

Tickets to the museum can be found here.

Dolphin Island

Dolphin Island is your chance to get real and up close to the ocean’s most intelligent creatures. Here, you’ll be granted the opportunity to swim, pat, and shake hands with Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins in a waist-deep lagoon if you opt for the Dolphin Discovery package. A guaranteed unforgettable and once-in-a-lifetime experience, you’ll also get to select different photo packages to purchase for keepsakes after. Purchase your ticket for the S$90 package here.

However, if you’re not keen on getting into the water but you’d still like to get up close to the dolphins, check out the Dolphin Encounter priced at S$35 here.
