20 most beautiful photography spots in Singapore (that don’t look like they’re here!)

Photography is a long-standing form of art that expresses and captures the heart. With Instagram, it seems that ordinary people are now obliged to take and upload beautiful pictures more than before. Extraordinary photos do not have to be shot overseas. From your daily #OOTD shots to your once-in-a-lifetime pre-wedding photoshoot, you would be amazed by how your local landscape are Insta-worthy.

1. Coney Island

Living up to its name of a “Garden City”, Singapore has many beautiful parks and nature reserves that are worth listing on this page. A fairly new park that was opened to public in 2015, Coney Island has been a hot favourite spot for young couples to take their pre-wedding photos. On top of that, the park is located at Punggol, a popular area amongst couples who are looking to BTO. So of course it makes sense to have a photoshoot in your future hometown!

Address and directions: Coney Island

If you are not planning on getting married anytime soon, Coney Island is still the place. Even our local fashion retailer took its photoshoot into the woods!

2. Punggol Settlement

If you prefer to have some sea view, follow the park connector tracks from Coney Island and you will reach Punggol Settlement, where things begin to look a little more like East Coast Park with the seafood restaurants and bicycle rental kiosks around. Punggol Settlement would be a much preferred location if you find East Coast too crowded and busy for the perfect shots that you wish. Remember to wait and capture the sunset!

3. Singapore Botanic Gardens

It may sound over-subscribed, but there is a reason why people keep going back to the Botanic Gardens for photoshoots. One of the oldest and largest gardens in Singapore and now a UNESCO Heritage Site, the Botanic Gardens has various sightings that could make your photos look like they were taken from a combination of places. Some of the attractions you could consider include the Swan Lake, National Orchid Garden, Palm Valley and the classic Bandstand.

Another location within Sentosa where you could take your pictures without being in the sun is the S.E.A Aquarium. However, with the lightings and reflective glass of the aquarium, you may need to spend more effort and time in getting the camera settings right. Lucky for couples who are considering to have their wedding photos taken here, the SEA Aquarium has bundled up a wedding photography and videography package, so you can leave it to the professionals to create the magic in your photos. Ops White Star – State Funeral | 25/08/2016 I was still serving in the Army. It was the day that the whole of Singapore was mourning as we loss our former President, the late S R Nathan. . . We were all activated to be on duty for the state funeral which was held at the Parliament Building. There were thousands of people during the state funeral, from Primary and Secondary School Students, Full-Time Madrasah Students and even people from Nursing Homes. We had to usher them group by group to enter the Parliament Building to pay their last respects. . . It was really tiring going back and fourth in & out of the parliament but we still did it despite lack of rest & sleep, super humid weather and tolerating the super long queue which takes nearly an hour before finally entering the parliament building. Nonetheless, it was worth it as i have something to share to the kids of the next generation of what i went through. #throwback #singapore #srnathan #statefuneral
