Gardens by the Bay and Toy Story have come together to make your June holiday plans extra fun

The annual Children’s Festival by Gardens by the Bay will feature Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story characters this year. The event will kick off on 15 June and you can look forward to bringing your little ones to experience a series of Toy Story-inspired activities.

Garden Rhapsody: Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story Adventure

One of the highlights has to be the Toy Story-inspired edition of Garden Rhapsody, a light and music show by Gardens by the Bay that will occur three times every night.

Bringing visitors through a medley of music from Toy Story movies, the performance will have you flying to infinity and beyond as the characters appear on fluffy clouds amongst the iconic Supertrees.

The music, light artistry, and projection media will certainly surprise and delight the audience.

Drawing workshop conducted by Pixar artist

For the opening weekend (15 and 16 June), Mara MacMahon, a character designer and character modeler lead on Toy Story 4 will teach visitors how to draw their favourite Toy Story characters through a series of three drawing workshops. This is the very first visit of a Pixar Animation Studios artist to Singapore and is certainly an opportunity not to be missed.

Overcome the obstacle course and help Bo Peep at Bo Peep’s Adventure

Anchoring the Children’s Festival is a series of activities that encourages teamwork and the forging of new friendships. Some highlights include Star Adventurer and Bo Peep’s Adventure, where children get to help the characters in a series of rescue missions; and the Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 themed Marble Run Track.

Special meet-and-greet sessions and  exclusive merchandise

The Festival is part of the three-year collaboration between Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia (Disney), and as part of this partnership, Toy Story 4 Bobble Head figures will be exclusively available at the Children’s Festival, through a giant capsule-dispensing machine. They are available in two different character designs: Buzz Lightyear or Woody.

On 15 and 16 June, you can also get up-close with Buzz Lightyear and Sheriff Woody at special meet-and-greet sessions at various timings throughout the day!

Fun and meaningful activities for the whole family

There will be a series of arts and craft, enrichment, and parent-child workshops to attend. These activities are designed to spark the creativity of a child, develop and refine their motor skills, encourage self expression and facilitate family bonding. A variety of stage programmes rounds up the slew of entertainment available.

In the spirit of friendship and sharing, a toy donation drive will also kick off on 15 June. Visitors are encouraged to support this cause by bringing soft toys, play sets, board games, or even sports products such as basketball and skateboards to the collection point on-site. At the end of the Festival, the toys collected will be gifted to children under the care of the Salvation Army, TOUCH Community Services (TOUCH Child Care) and Food from the Heart.

Children’s Festival 2019 by Gardens by the Bay will happen between 15 June and 30 June. Information of the Festival can be found at this web page.
