World’s 50 Best Bars 2023: 3 bars in Singapore make the list, including 1 new entry

Singapore hosted the 15th annual awards ceremony for The World’s 50 Best Bars took place last night (17 October) and it’s the first time the announcement occurred outside of Europe.

In this year’s rankings, three bars in Singapore claimed esteemed positions.

Leading the way is Jigger and Pony, an OG in the cocktail scene in Singapore, securing the 14th spot on the global list. Sago House, which has recently moved Sago Street to Duxton Hill, follows closely at the 32nd place. Additionally, Atlas, which boasts an opulent art deco design and an unmatched gin collection, shone as Singapore’s third representative, attaining the 48th position.

Singapore’s excellence in the global bar scene was further demonstrated with five more bars making it to The World’s 50 Best 51-100 list: 28 HongKong Street at #59, Manhattan at #63, Nutmeg & Clove at #64, Analogue Initiative at #78, and Native at #83. Night Hawk also received special recognition for the best bar design, presented by Bareksten.

The title of the world’s best bar for 2023 was claimed by Sips in Barcelona, while last year’s top-ranked establishment, Paradiso in Barcelona, secured the 4th spot this year.

The selection of The World’s 50 Best Bars is meticulously curated by a panel of over 650 drink experts from across the globe. This year’s panel boasted the largest and most diverse group of experts since the list’s inception in 2009. Each expert confidentially cast their votes for the top seven bars they had visited in the past 18 months.
