The Lobby Lounge at InterContinental Singapore is one of the top places to go for a decadent afternoon tea and it has given itself the challenge of presenting a vegan afternoon tea set.
Collaborating with local beauty brand Sigi Skin, InterContinental Singapore’s new Vegan Afternoon Tea: Sigi Skin Edition is inspired by 10 superfood ingredients found in Sigi Skin’s award-winning skincare.
For savouries, the set includes:
- Fishless Fingers with Vegan Tartare Dip
- Tomato Concasse, Plant-based Meat Ball Skewer
- Sweet Potato Truffle Fries with BBQ Dip
- Pumpkin Mousse, Avocado, Mushroom with Tomato Arugula, Spinach Wrap
For sweets, the set includes:
- Acai Blueberry Vegan Cheese Cake, Soy Bean Cream
- Banana Oatmeal Cake, Coffee Chocolate Cremeux
- Green Tea Tiramisu, Souffle Sponge
- Chocolate Brownie with Almond Chocolate Ganache
- Tropical Yuzu Custard, Puffed Rice
There are even goji berry scones served with non-dairy cream (made with rice) and strawberry jam.
When AVENUE ONE tried the Vegan Afternoon Tea, we were surprised to find the items just as delectable as regular afternoon tea set items – if not, better – despite not using butter, eggs, or cream, which are three of the most commonly used ingredients in pastries and sweets.
Our favourites on the menu include the Fishless Fingers, which really tasted like regular fish fingers, the wholesome wrap, and the indulgent chocolate brownie.
The creative use of vegan alternatives in preparing these items was skilful and smart, making it a joy to guess what goes into each item. (If you’re tired of guessing, ask the server!)
After the afternoon tea, all patrons will also be bringing home a piece of Sigi Skin Tea-Tox Hydrating, Soothing & Anti-Pollution Sheet Mask and Dream Capsule Overnight Mask (travel size) so you can continue to indulge in superfood goodness at home – this time, on your skin.
This seasonal collaboration will be available daily from 1 April 2022 to 30 September 2022 at The Lobby Lounge, lnterContinental Singapore, 80 Middle Road, Singapore 188966. First seating is from 1pm to 3pm and second seating is from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
Vegan Afternoon Tea: Sigi Skin Edition will be priced at S$55++ per adult, inclusive of fine loose– leaf tea or coffee, unlimited ice cream and scones or S$70++ per adult, inclusive of a flute of Taittinger Brut champagne, fine loose– leaf tea or coffee, unlimited ice cream and scones. You can also top up S$10++ per pax for a glass of non-alcoholic Copenhagen Sparkling Tea.
