In light of the recent Circuit Breaker extension, we won’t be able to take our mums out for a lovely meal at a restaurant this Mother’s Day. However, we can still treat mummy dearest like royalty with special takeout and delivery services offered by established restaurants in Singapore.

1. Candlenut
If your mother misses the comfort of Peranakan dishes, ring up Candlenut, a Michelin-starred Peranakan restaurant located at Dempsey Road. The restaurant has prepared a Circuit Breaker Menu with popular dishes that go for S$20 each.
Try the Chef’s Mum’s Chicken Curry, which is cooked with potato and kaffir lime leaf, or Candlenut’s Buah Keluak Fried Rice, fried with Indonesian black nut sambal. You can also spoil her with a decadent Kueh Salat. It has a glutinous rice base that’s tinged blue from blue pea flowers, topped off with a light pandan custard.

2. Violet Oon
With Violet Oon’s Petit Feasts, you can throw a Nyonya feast at home easily. Inspired by Tok Panjang, which refers to a ‘long table’ in Peranakan culture, its home delivery menu brings classics to your table that’s perfect for sharing between four to six people. It’s sure to put a smile on your mum’s face.
The restaurant offers specials such as Babi Assam, which is a spicy and sour tamarind pork stew, Chap Chye, Beef Rendang, and more. Each delivery also includes servings of jasmine rice, atchara pickles, and sambal belacan. If your order is S$100 and above, you can enjoy free delivery.

3. Cicheti
For a meal that shouts “mamma mia!”, let your mum indulge in dishes prepared by Cicheti (pronounced chee-keh-tee). The Italian restaurant has launched an islandwide delivery service, so mum can tuck into wood-fired pizzas and pasta.
Start with the Calamari Fritti before digging into a delicious Margherita Pizza. To hit the sweet spot, end her meal off with the Crack Pie, which has almond frangipane, a cookie base, and cocoa crumble. All deliveries will also come with a curated music playlist to transport you to Florence.

4. Restaurant Ibid
Restaurant Ibid takes comfort food to the next level, and it now has a permanent takeaway menu to tide us over the Circuit Breaker extension. The restaurant serves up special bakes, sandwiches, chicken wings, and premium steaks.
Fill your mum’s belly with the Cheese Shaobing, Stuffed Boneless Chicken Wings, and Black Angus OP Rib steak. There’s also Dried Scallop Porridge if she’s not too adventurous. You can also pick one of three set menus for her, along with a bottle of wine.

5. Blue Jasmine
From 9 to 10 May 2020, Blue Jasmine is offering a set meal for four, which comprises of tasty Thai dishes. Treat your mum to a spread that includes Basil Chicken Kaprao, Spicy Lemongrass Fish Fillet, and Tom Yum Mushroom Soup. Round off the meal with delectable Thai Deep-Fried Banana.

6. Min Jiang
Impress the empress of your house with Min Jiang’s special set menus prepared from 1 to 3 May and 9 to 10 May 2020. Located at Goodwood Park Hotel and Dempsey, the two outlets have six-course set menus for a minimum of two people.
Appease her highness with a Classic Platter, featuring Deep-fried Prawn coated with Butter Milk, Spicy Sichuan Crispy Chicken, Marinated Jellyfish Flower, and more. If your mum’s a durian-lover, you may want to pick up a Mao Shan Wang Mousse Cake too, now at a special price.

7. LeVeL33
LeVeL33, a craft-brewery restaurant and lounge, now offers takeaway and delivery. There are special weekend roasts on its menu, so your family can feast on a whole roast served with scrumptious sides. This includes Yorkshire puddings, honey roasted carrots, buttered French beans, and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir.
If your mum’s a vegetarian, order the Brewery Veggie Burger. The patty is made entirely of vegetables, grains, and button mushrooms. We hear that a number of meat-lovers have opted for this instead of their regular beef burgers too.

8. Barbary Coast
While we can’t admire the old-world atmosphere at Barbary Coast during this period, the restaurant is making it up to us with a menu of food and drinks for takeaway and delivery.
Kick off your Mother’s Day dinner with a Charcuterie and Cheese Board. Then, try the Red Snapper Ceviche Wrap or Cubano Style Pork. Pair your food items with cocktails, which are available in 375ml bottles.

Known for its Hyderabadi Dhum Biryani, Mr Biryani has created a takeaway menu for those who crave authentic Indian cuisine at home. Ordering its signature biryani is a must, but we’d like to recommend the Kampong Chicken Biryani and Paneer Biryani too. Complement your biryani selection with the Andhra Chilli Chicken and Dal Tadka to tingle your taste buds.

Let your mum sink her teeth into the Ribeye Steak or a Prime Filet Mignon. You can also get her a bottle of Wolfgang’s Old Fashioned Sauce to drizzle on meals at home.

12. Capella Singapore
From modern Mediterranean dishes to the freshest seafood, Capella Singapore has curated a takeaway menu for you and your mum to savour. The sets include dishes from Capella’s signature restaurant, The Knolls, as well as Cantonese restaurant, Cassia.
