You might not be ready to buy an air ticket and fly off to another city yet. But thankfully, there are lots of hidden places in Singapore that can make you feel like you’re in a completely different country.
Experience France just like Emily in Paris in this brand new bistro located right in the centre of the city and remember to bring your A-game and channel your inner model when posing for the ‘gram.

Lots of photo op spots
So France Claymore is a new French bistro outlet that opened recently after the success of its first outlet at DUO Galleria.

You can see that as you step into the restaurant, the flooring is not like any other places you’ve been to. The flooring has been installed with artificial turf for the alfreso dining area to mimic the outdoors and to elevate the experience of dining.
The awning above the alfresco dining area offers some much-needed shade from the sun, giving you a cooling experience as you indulge in a meal. Since it is still an open space, natural sunlight is able to come in, offering a brightly lit spot that is perfect for photo-taking.

Some people may even think you’re in France when they see your photo!
If you prefer to sit indoors and enjoy the air-conditioning, just head on inside. Don’t worry, there are still many photo spots within the restaurant.

There are a number of booth seats that you can occupy. If those are taken, you can also sit in the middle of the restaurant in chairs with a rattan backrest that look awfully similar to the ones found in cafes in France.

The entire restaurant is designed so well that even posing beside the chair makes for a good photo.

The restaurant is also decorated with a few bold art pieces that add to the French flair.

Sit right under your favourite artwork or one that your outfit matches for the most Insta-worthy shot. Bring along that sunhat you’ve been keeping in the back of your closet because it’s time to flaunt it!

The food
After all that photo-taking, we’re sure that you’ll probably start feeling some hunger pangs. Luckily for us, this French bistro doesn’t just serve looks, it also whips up a pretty delicious set of meals!

They have lots of dishes for you to choose from, and some of the top recommendations include the buttery Beef Tartare, which can be served as both a main course and an appetiser, fragrant Garlic Butter Snails, the signature So France Beef Burger, the tender Duck Confit, and the Pan Seared Foie Gras.

Just look at the So France Beef Burger! The thick beef patty is sandwiched between two toasted sourdough buns, with extra toppings like onions confit and raclette cheese.

Of course, you can’t call it a French experience without tipples! Choose from their wide selection of wines (16 pages in total!) to pair with your meats. Not sure what would go well? Simply ask for the staff’s recommendations!
Conclude the French experience with a classic Crème Brûlée with the caramelised sugar burnt to perfection or go for a sweeter indulgence like the Peach Mel’Beach which comes with vanilla and peach ice cream, raspberry sorbet topped with poached peaches, raspberry coulis, and chantilly.

In-house grocery store
After you’ve filled your tummy, you might want to walk it off. So France also has an in-house grocery store that you can check out before heading home. This grocery store offers more than 1,000 gourmet products that you can bring home so that you can enjoy the French experience in the comfort of your own house.

The products are sourced from artisanal producers in France, so you know that you’re getting high quality produce. You can buy some beverages or even French snacks and have a little taste of France right here in Singapore.

If you’re a fan of wine, you’ll be glad to know that there are more than 100 different French wines and spirits available. The wines fill up the entire wall space, so you’re going to be spoilt for choice! These wines are under geographical indications and are specially picked out by So France’s experts, so you can be assured of their origin, authenticity, and quality.

Looking to make your own charcuterie board soon? Here’s where you can find all sorts of different premium cheeses that you can include.

Don’t they all look so appetising?

Regardless of whether it’s a meetup with your girlfriends, a romantic date with your partner, or even brunch with your kids, So France is the next place to go to.
So France is located at 1 Claymore Drive, Orchard Towers, Singapore 229594 and it is open daily from 8am to 10pm.
