With the year-end festivities approaching us like a bullet train, you’re probably going to be attending and hosting lots of house parties to celebrate.
Instead of preparing the same ol’ appetisers like everyone else, here’s an impressive and visually appealing shrimp sandwich that will wow your guests every time.
Plus, it’s really easy to make too!

The top of the bread slice is brushed with an aromatic garlic spread, and these bite-sized shrimp sandwiches also have a surprise within them.

It may not look like it, but there’s actually cheese in the core of the minced shrimp that will ooze the moment you take a bite – and you and your guest will be able to take Instaworthy photos with the cheese pull that you can get from this sandwich.
Just look at that beauty!
Easy and aesthetic shrimp sandwich recipe
If you think that only a professional would be able to achieve something that looks so good, think again.
This recipe is broken down into simple steps, so even kitchen beginners will be able to succeed in making this shrimp sandwich.
Let’s start!
Ingredients needed (for half a dozen of mini sandwiches)
- 3 slices of white bread
- 20g of butter
- 1 clove of garlic
- Parsley, chopped
- Shrimps
- Cheese, cut into small squares
- A pinch of salt
- A pinch of pepper
Preparing the minced shrimps
Step 1: Remove the intestinal tract of the shrimps by making a shallow cut along the length of the black line and carefully lifting it up with the tip of your knife.

Step 2: Chop up all of the shrimps until they are minced and transfer them to a mixing bowl.

Step 3: Add a pinch of salt and pepper to the minced shrimps. Mix evenly before putting the bowl aside.

Preparing the garlic spread
Step 4: Next, you’ll be preparing the garlic spread that will go on the bread of the sandwich. Place 20g of butter in another mixing bowl, and add chopped parsley to it. Then, grate one garlic clove into this mixing bowl.

Step 5: Mash them all together such that the mixture becomes a spread-like texture. You should be able to smell the aroma by now. Once done, you can then put the bowl aside.

Preparing the bread
Step 6: Remove the crust from all four corners of your white bread, and cut the bread into quarters.

Preparing the shrimp sandwich
Step 7: Take one of the quarters and spread the minced shrimps on it. Don’t be afraid to be a little more generous with the spreading.

Step 8: Grab the cheese squares and press them right into the middle of the minced shrimps. Make sure it’s tightly enveloped by the minced shrimps because it will be your cheese core, and you wouldn’t want the cheese to ooze out before your guests take a bite!

Step 9: Cover the cheese up with more minced shrimps.

Step 10: Before topping the shrimp sandwich off, brush the garlic spread you prepared earlier on the top side of the bread.

Step 11: If you have any remaining garlic spread, you can also spread it on the sides of the sandwich to give it extra flavour.

Step 12: Repeat Steps 7 to 11 to make more mini shrimp sandwiches.
Step 13: Once done, place them in the oven for 15 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.

Step 14: Take them out of the oven and you’re ready to serve your guests.

And, there you have it! In just 14 simple steps, you’ll be able to achieve something that is usually only seen in restaurants, prepared by professional chefs.

Your guests are definitely going to be impressed, thinking that you’ve spent hours making this – don’t worry, we won’t tell.

Besides, it’s a unique treat that is different from what’s usually served at parties like calamari, bruschetta, or cheese sticks, so why not give your guest a change of scenery this year?
Happy cooking!
