Luke’s Oyster Bar & Chop House Appetizer: 3 Selections of Oysters ? (Pleasant Bay, Ninigret Nectar & Mapleque) G: 10/10! One of the best oysters I’ve had. It’s clean/non-ocean tasting. Taste: Clean, Buttery, Briny, Sweet. Texture: The texture of an oyster duh… Seasoning: I recommend it just with a squeeze of lemon. Good oysters don’t need anything else. Creativity/Complexity: Simple, but each selection of oysters had its own distinct characteristics. Appetizer: Tuna Tartare G: 5/10. I usually love tuna tartare, but this dish didn’t really speak to me. I left most of it to Kristi. K: 8/10. I finished what Gabriella didn’t. Taste: Standard tuna tartare although it didn’t taste very fresh. Texture: A bit hard to chew. Maybe a little too mushy. Seasoning: Well seasoned. Zesty. Creativity/Complexity: Standard tuna tartare. Main: Luke’s Bone-In Tenderloin Au Poivre G: 9/10! Im a sauce(y) kinda gal & wow did this mustard cognac jus hit the spot for me. K: 7.5/10. Honestly had higher expectations for a grill house but this wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t extraordinary, I needed to chew a bit more. Taste: Amazing mustard cognac jus! Texture: Hard to chew, but the sauce made it up for me. Seasoning: Very well seasoned. Creativity/Complexity: The sauce had depth, very robust & is pleasantly spicy with the black pepper. Mustard Cognac just isn’t your everyday steak sauce! Dessert: Warm Chocolate Chip Cookies + Stout Milkshake G: 8/10. Would I eat this on a weekly basis? Probably not. It was definitely sweet, but there’s satisfaction on ending such a luxurious meal with something so wrong but feels so right. Overall Experience: – Presentation: No frills type of presentation. Oyster’s presentation was cute, could have done more for the dessert. – Service: Mediocre? No rude waiter but he did stare extensively at us. Didn’t feel we had enough privacy for a conversation. Is it too much to say that he killed the vibe a little? We were well attended though. – Ambiance: Classier & quieter than we imagined. Dim & romantic, great spot for a date night. Definitely dress up!
