There’s nothing better than heading out with your family members on a Sunday morning and ordering a few sharing platters of delicious food to share over brunch. And with the current dining restrictions finally being extended to 10 people per table, we can foresee many people heading out for meals with their loved ones. If you’re looking for a new spot to have brunch at, check out this Japanese brunch cafe!
Ohayo Mamasan has recently popped up in town and the first thing you would notice is that the cafe is decked in retro blue and orange decor and furniture. The walls feature Japanese elements illuminated by orange alcove lights, along with wise quotes that everyone can live by. This also makes it a good backdrop for photos with your loved ones!
The cafe offers an all-day brunch menu which features Japanese bentos and classic brunch items with a modern twist to them. Check out the Nishoku Tamago Total Satisfaction Brunch (S$18++) which comes with traditional nishoku tamago, seafood and vegetables chowder, miso sauce salad, mini croissants, three-type sauteed mushrooms, and honey yoghurt with blueberries for dessert.
The Madam Benedict Egg Brunch (S$24++) also caught our eye with its perfectly cooked eggs benedict on sourdough, seafood and vegetables chowder, miso sauce salad, three-type sauteed mushrooms, and honey yoghurt with blueberries. If you’re looking for something more filling, we would recommend going for the Mamasan Wagyu Sandwich Brunch (S$34++). This set comes with toasted wagyu with mustard butter mayo sandwiches, seafood and vegetables chowder, truffle soft-boiled egg, miso sauce salad, sweet potato sticks, and honey yoghurt with blueberries.
For sharing, you can opt for various sushi sets that come in a visually pleasing wooden tiered tower. We can already imagine the number of photos that will be taken of these towers!
Other than its classic sushi rolls, Ohayo Mamasan has also come up with Riceless Sushi Rolls that feature just proteins and vegetables in the roll. This makes it perfect for those who want to cut down on their intake of carbohydrates, or just want something extra to fill their tummy after a meal!
Some of the other menu items include light canapes, tapas, rice bowls, and sashimi platters.
For those who need a tipple, you’ll be happy to know that it has an extensive menu of cocktails, sake, wine, and liquors to choose from.
Of course, those who do not wish to drink can also enjoy refreshing beverages such as the Hiroshima Cola, Baby High Ball, Geisha Blossom Tea, and Shiruki Smooth Latte.
End your meal on a sweet note with any of Ohayo Mamasan’s offerings of desserts! Its bestsellers include the Is it Cheesecake? Is it Tempura? as well as the Melt the Chocolate Tokyo Dome! where you can find treasures hidden right underneath the chocolate dome.
