End the year with a bang and dine with a view or under the stars at these top restaurants during New Year’s Eve

The new year is less than two weeks away, and we can finally say goodbye to the craziness we had in 2021.

If you haven’t been able to celebrate New Year’s Eve previously, now’s your chance to end the year with a bang with your loved ones (while adhering to safe management measures, of course).

You may have already made plans for Christmas, but it’s time to also schedule your New Year celebration! After all, it is happening just a few days after Christmas. Take a look at some of our picks for restaurants that will guarantee you a good time with great food and beautiful views this New Year’s Eve.

1. CÉ LA VI

Enjoy the panoramic view of Singapore from the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands at CÉ LA VI this New Year’s Eve.

Indulge in their five-course dinner menu which starts with either a chef’s selection of fresh seafood with laksa mayonnaise, grapefruit vinaigrette, yuzu soyu sabayon, seagrapes, and caviar, followed by a warm bowl of chawanmushi cooked with mushroom dashi and sea urchin.

For the third course, you’ll be treated to a delightful lobster tail with miso hollandaise and ikura, or a wagyu steak tartare with a sous vide egg yolk and sourdough cracker.

Next, for the main course, you can choose to try out their tender Tuwinga Black Angus Ribeye that is served with parsnip kombucha puree, red wine glaze, and onion jam, or opt for the duck breast with brown butter turnip puree and orange jus, or Thai style steam seabass cooked with wok hey kuey teow and kai lan.

End the evening with a sweet treat that comes in the form of a champagne mousse topped with Champagne vanilla sorbet and grape compote.

Vegetarian options are also available during the meal.

2. Arbora Hilltop Garden & Bistro

Take a cable car ride up to Mount Faber Peak and dine at Arbora Hilltop Garden & Bistro this New Year’s Eve with their special menu.

This restaurant is the perfect place for you to have a nice and relaxing meal with your kids because they don’t only have a menu for the adults, they also have one catered for children. Plus, you get to have a nice view while you eat!

The NYE set dinner comes with four courses, and it will start off with a plate of appetisers that features roast duck with kimchi, oyster that has been deep-fried to perfection, as well as a char-grilled salmon belly that is flavourful and fatty.

Cleanse your palate with a bowl of soup, and you can choose between a creamy seafood bisque or a rich essence of beef soup that has brisket slices, chopped sweet basil, and coriander.

For mains, you have three choices – a Shallow Fried Pork Cordon Bleu that is not too cheesy and dry, Char-Grilled Whole Spiny Lobster that tastes fresh and rich in flavour, or Grilled Red Snapper served with chilli tomato confit and pesto.

Last but not least, you get to end the night with chocolate almond ice cream from Häagen-Dazs served either with an avocado sponge cake drizzled with coconut cream and passionfruit coulis, or two minced fruit pies.

They also have a vegetarian menu if you’re not a meat lover!

For the kids, they get a three-course meal featuring mushroom soup, either spaghetti bolognese or fish and chips, and cookies and cream Häagen-Dazs ice cream served with white chocolate mousse, raspberry coulis, and wild berries.

Once you’re done with the meal, you can also head over to the garden area right beside the outdoor seating area and snap photos of your kids with the Bell of Happiness. It would be a nice family moment to make a wish together in anticipation of the new year!

3. Super Loco

Have a Mexican NYE by the riverside at Super Loco Robertson Quay this year.

To welcome in the new year, Super Loco Robertson Quay is having a special four-course dinner of Mexican dishes paired with four hours of bottomless drinks of frozen lime margaritas, prosecco, wine, and beer.

That’s right, you’re in for a wild night when you choose to celebrate NYE with your loved ones here!

Alternatively, you can head to Super Loco Customs House for a tropical-themed celebration. Here, you will get to enjoy a premium four-course bayside dinner with a view of Marina Bay, as well as four hours of bottomless drinks.

Don’t worry about your little ones, because there’s also a special menu curated for them.

4. LeVel33

Here’s another restaurant you can check out if you would like to dine with a great view of Singapore’s skyline.

While it isn’t on the 57th floor, it still offers a pretty picturesque view of Singapore from the 33rd floor.

LeVel33 is offering three dinner seatings on NYE, and you can choose whichever fits your schedule best.

Revel in the experience of watching the sunset as you embark on the first seating (5pm to 7pm) with a four-course dinner menu (S$138+) that boasts Hokkaido scallops and grass-fed Angus striploin.

If you prefer to dine under the moonlight, opt for the second seating (8pm to 10.30pm) with the four-course dinner menu (S$188+) featuring Fremantle octopus and Wagyu tri-tip steak.

Those who go for either of these sets will receive a complimentary glass of champagne of LeVel33’s signature Brut Beer.

If you would rather slowly enjoy your meal and catch up with your loved ones, perhaps you could go for the third seating (5pm to 10.30pm) and indulge in a six-course meal (S$298+) instead.

6. SKAI Restaurant

There are two menus you can enjoy on NYE at SKAI Restaurant – the NYE Set Dinner that runs from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and the NYE ‘After 8’ Set Dinner that runs from 8pm to 10.30pm.

The former is a four-course dinner while the latter is a six-course dinner. Both menus come with a complimentary glass of Laurent Perrier Brut.

The menus start off with an assortment of fresh seafood that you can enjoy, like lobster and crab.

For a slightly heavier meal, you get to savour the tenderness of the Westholme Wagyu short rib grilled with kale and beetroot. If you’re having the six-course meal, you’ll be served plates of tuna and foie gras in between.

End the night with the Chocolate Wishing Stone, which has earl grey mousse, salted orange confit, and bergamot ice cream.

7. Kinki Restaurant + Bar

Prefer something a little more Asian after all the roasts you’re going to eat during Christmas? Head over to Kinki Restaurant + Bar for a modern Japanese six-course meal.

You’re in for a treat because here’s what they have to offer! For starters, you’ll be served hamachi carpaccio and grilled spicy yellow corn, salmon salad, sea bream soup, and an assortment of sushi.

8. db Bistro & Oyster Bar

While you won’t get much of a view when you dine at db Bistro & Oyster Bar, the food alone will make it worthwhile to head there for NYE.

Award-winning chef Daniel Boulud has come up with a delicious five-course dinner menu for NYE and we can’t wait to feast on it!

Start the night off with an oyster chowder with oscietra caviar, and tease your tastebuds with the umami flavours of diver scallops that are seasoned with black truffle and enveloped in a flaky and buttery pastry crust.

For your mains, pick between the beef rossini and the dover sole with cauliflower.

Once you’re done, dessert will be served! This will definitely be a hit with coffee lovers, as you’ll get to relish in an almond sponge cake soaked in coffee syrup, with layers of ganache and coffee French buttercream, and a scoop of coffee ice cream placed on the top.
