The new month is here and if you’re a foodie just like us, you’d probably be on the lookout for new restaurants and menus so that you can once again go on a much-needed culinary journey that not only is a feast for your eyes, but also your tummies.

New restaurants to look forward to

1. White Marble

Highly regarded as one of the most prominent chefs of Western food and beverage in Singapore as well as the chef-owner of Black Marble, Chef Otto Weibel has unveiled a brand new Mediterranean restaurant. After much success in conquering the steak world over at Black Marble, he is now back to conquer the flavours of the sea with White Marble.

In his newest restaurant, he recreates the classic flavours of Spain, Portugal, France, Morocco, and the Middle East with dishes such as Fried Coated Olives served with a side of spicy yoghurt, Roasted Butternut Squash, Prawn Bucatini Puttanesca, and Chicken Leg Bone-in Tagine that is perfect for sharing.

Conclude the meal with an enticing dessert like the Fig & Almond Tart or the Crema Catalana that will leave you wanting more.

2. Willow

Conveniently located in the Central Business District area, Willow is a newly opened restaurant that aims to provide some comfort in the city with contemporary pan-Asian menus that taste modern, yet familiar. Using the finest ingredients sourced mostly from Japan, Chef Nicolas Tam crafts simple ingredient-centric dishes that are cooked simply but prepared with modern fine-dining techniques.

Here, you get to delight your tastebuds in amazing dishes such as caviar on a crispy nest, chutoro croustades, five-day aged Shima Aji, A4 Japanese Wagyu Zabuton, the chef’s signature ochazuke rice porridge.

You’ll be in good hands for dessert as Head Pastry Chef Soh Hui Shan wows with her sour plum sorbet served with fresh and preserved guava and whipped mascarpone, as well as her home-made candies such as sour pate de fruit ‘beetle’ and 55% bourbon.

3. Chimi’s

Those who love Mexican food would probably have heard of Chimi’s, also known as Singapore’s first Mexican container bar that was built from a refurbished shipping container. The well-loved restaurant is expanding and fans of the restaurant will now be able to enjoy delectable Mexican dishes right at Orchard!

Tantalise your tastebuds with Chimi’s own rendition of traditional Mexican cuisine with a slight twist that caters more to the Singaporean palate. Highlights include Quesadillas, Loaded Nachos, and Golden Churros.

With an al fresco setting, Chimi’s offers the perfect environment for a refreshing ice-cold dessert or cocktail. For desserts, go for their handcrafted ice cream in flavours like Lime Margarita, Chocolate Sriracha, and Mango Tajin. And for drinks, you can opt for any of the bar’s five signature flavoured Margaritas – Classic Lime, Basil Mint, Strawberry, Mango Peach, and Coco Cinnamon.

4. The Balvenie x Cure

Cure is a newly appointed Michelin-starred Nua Irish restaurant that has been revealed to be the sixth and final restaurant that is part of the Hardcrafted By series initially launched by The Balvenie and MICHELIN Guide.

Helmed by chef-owner Andrew Walsh, Cure offers New Irish cuisine with signature dishes such as the twice-smoked salmon prepared with The Balvenie 14 Year Old The Week of Peat and the Childhood Memories of Peat dessert that is served alongside The Balvenie 12 Year Old DoubleWood.

Toast to the restaurant’s recent Michelin star accolade with the specially crafted Star in Orbit, a cocktail that is made with The Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask.

These dishes are part of a full menu that comes with alcohol pairing of highlights from The Balvenie.

5. Gemma Steakhouse

Meat-lovers would be familiar with Gemma Steakhouse as it is one of the most highly raved steakhouses in Singapore that offers classic Tuscan bistecca and fresh seafood. This March, get ready for all-new offerings at the beloved restaurant which see cuts from highly regarded producers Wanderer and The Vintage Beef Company.

Sink your teeth into the perfectly seared Wanderer Tenderloin or opt for the grass-fed Vintage Galiciana Bone-in Striploin. The latter has an MB3+ grading, is dry-aged for 30 days, and is produced from mature stock, giving the beef that deep and nuanced flavour that is oh-so-delightful.

Gemma Steakhouse also offers four-course weekday lunches so that you get to have a taste of the restaurants signature dishes without fearing that it would be too much. Feeling a little fancy? Opt for the Bottomless Cocktail Sunday Brunch where you get to enjoy an endless flow of martinis, negronis, and whisky sours along with a delicious spread of 10 Italian dishes including prime steaks, artisanal pastas, and the freshest seafood.

6. CÉ LA VI

Party it up with CÉ LA VI’s latest line-up of entertainment that is guaranteed to take away the worries and make you have the best time of your life. Out of the exciting new features, we’re the most excited about the Sunday BBQ where you get to wind down on Sundays and enjoy a casual barbecue dinner with your loved ones as you overlook the Singapore skyline.

7. IKEA

In its bid to encourage us to continue celebrating the season of love, IKEA has introduced a special Iberico pork menu available exclusively on Wednesdays nights after 5pm so that you can have a sinful mid-week date night with your partner.

The latest menu is headlined by the Iberico Pork Patty with Brown Sauce that is flavourful yet not too heavy on the palate, as well as the Iberico Pork Jowl and Cheese Croquette with Aglio Olio.

8. Mikuni

For the uninitiated, Japan celebrates Hina Matsuri or “doll festival” on 3 March every year, and this is a day where families wish their daughters good health and happiness in life. In order to commemorate this special occasion. Chef Keisuke Uno of Mikuni presents a special seasonal bento set that will certainly convey the well wishes of Japanese families.

The impressive lunch bento set starts off with Mikuni’s Signature Sea Urchin Shell, where Hokkaido sea urchin is served with a unique lobster jelly that is made over four days from lobster-infused Japanese fish stock and homemade chicken stock. Next, take in a mouthful of the plump Otoro that has a hint of sweetness thanks to the Kyushu Kanro soy sauce.

Savour the rest of the set menu which includes a flavourful A5 Tochigi Wagyu Sushi Roll, Lobster Sea Urchin Gratin, and Miyagi Oysters wrapped in Kadaif noodles that are lightly fried so that it’s crispy. This mouthwatering menu is only available for a limited time, so make sure you grab it before the period is over!

9. JFOODO SEAFOOD LOVES SAKE 2022

Unlike the other restaurants on this list, SEAFOOD LOVES SAKE 2022 is actually a campaign by The Japan Food Product Overseas Promotion Center (JFOODO) to introduce our local diners to the world of sake and the lovely experience it provides when it is paired with seafood.

This campaign is supported by more than 30 restaurants serving different kinds of cuisine – Japanese, Asian Fusion, Chinese, French, Indian, Italian, Spanish, and Singapore. Each restaurant will spotlight one signature seafood dish and pair it with a recommended bottle of sake as suggested by award=winning accredited sake sommelier Adrian Goh.

10. Tippling Club

Crowned one of the world’s and Asia’s best bars, Tippling Club is certainly a bar you need to head to at least once in your life. And with the latest launch of their innovative dinner menu, you’ve got an even bigger reason to head there this month.

The bar’s latest dinner menu showcases creativity in both the ingredients and the techniques used, and the highlights of this menu include the Wagyu Tartare Tartlet, Shirako Nugget, Hokkaido Scallop and Purple Garlic Soup, Liquid Omelette, and Musk Melon à la Japanese Slipper.

11. Black Tap

Black Tap has introduced new specials on their menu to celebrate the new month and Saint Patrick’s Day. Look forward to the Reuben Burger which features a potato bun with succulent prime beef, griddled corn beef, Swiss cheese, tangy sauerkraut, pickles, and the restaurant’s special sauce.

Pair the burger with a pint of beer, or go for the crowd-favourite CrazyShake milkshakes that will look great in photos for the ‘gram. 12. KOMA

You may not be able to see cherry blossoms in Japan this year given the current situation, but you can still celebrate the season with KOMA’s exclusive cherry blossom special, the Sakura Alaska Dessert.

This sweet treat will make you taste the joy of spring with its berry sakura sorbet, vanilla bombe, almond biscuit, and white chocolate crunchy rice. In line with the cherry blossom theme, the dessert is also served in a sakura-encrusted ice bowl.

Other than the cherry blossom special, diners at KOMA can also feast on decadent dishes such as the Hamo and Mushroom Yaki, Sea Urchin Udon, Spicy Black Spider Cleansing Roll, and Miyazaki Local Beef.

13. Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse

Fans of the famous Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse will be delighted to know that the restaurant has just launched a four-course limited edition ‘Best of Bistecca’ menu with highlights in celebration of its 10th anniversary.

The menu will spotlight Bistecca’s most popular dishes of the last 10 years, and you can expect to see Bistecca’s Signature Sharing Steaks as one of the main dishes served. The premium F1 Wagyu beef will be available in cuts such as the Fiorentina, or the Costata.

For starters, whet your appetite with the Burrata, or opt for the Pan-seared Scallops. You won’t be disappointed when you indulge in the signature house-made pasta with beef and tomato ragu or Japanese pumpkin agnolotti.

14. Art

Art is a Michelin one-star neo-Italian restaurant that serves up a modern interpretation of classical Italian dishes to deliver an Italian dining experience like never before.
