Having wanderlust but haven’t got down with your travel plans yet?
Thankfully, you can still experience the journey of travelling, without having to travel overseas, right here in Singapore. We found this special ongoing promotion where you get to enjoy a delightful Halal-certified afternoon tea by the sea onboard a ferry!
This is a unique way to enjoy some snacks as you experience the calm of the ocean waters. It will feel like you’re travelling out of Singapore, but without all the hassle of packing your bags and clearing customs!
Kueh & Kusu
Sindo Ferry has introduced the Kueh & Kusu experience where you set sail on their garden-themed ferry at 3pm and admire the picturesque views of Singapore’s marina coastline.
Once the ferry departs from Harbourfront Centre, you’ll be served freshly brewed Earl Grey Tea in beautiful fine China, and a selection of both savoury snacks, such as assorted finger sandwiches and Baked Chicken Pie, as well as sweet treats including Blueberry Cheese Tarts, Chocolate Eclairs, Coffee Swiss Roll, and Kueh Dadar presented in a visually appealing three-tier bird cage.
Remember to take lots of photos of the afternoon tea set with the stunning views of Singapore’s coastline as your backdrop before digging in!
And for more photo opportunities, head out to the open deck fitted with faux grass and enjoy the panoramic views along with the calming sea breeze.
The ferry will make a stopover at Kusu Island, and you will be given some time to explore the island and learn more about its rich history. Legend has it that the place derived its name from a giant tortoise that turned itself into an island; a heroic gesture to save a crew from being shipwrecked. As such, when you explore the island, you’ll notice it’s filled with shrines dedicated to the animal.
If you feel that the standard Kueh & Kusu afternoon tea set is not to your liking, you can also upgrade it to the Royal Tea Premium Afternoon Tea set menu.
For savouries, the set comes with Chicken Teriyaki Sliders, Smoked Duck Crepe Rolls, and Chicken Vol-Au-Vent. Delight your tastebuds with a decadent Chocolate Muffin, Pulut Tai Tai with Kaya Jam, and Ondeh-Ondeh.
And to conclude the afternoon tea, you will be served soft drinks in addition to your freshly brewed Earl Grey Tea, and Mochi Ice Cream for a sweet end.
As of now, this 2.5-hour ferry experience is only available on the weekends, but lucky for us, there is a special April promotion for this experience, where you can get the Kueh & Kusu standard package at S$80 per person and the Royalty Premium package at S$100 per person.
Book the experience through Klook or Flamingo now for a fun getaway! For more details, you can also check out Sindo Ferry’s website.
