The Pantry is a cosy and intimate space that brings lush greenery from its tranquil garden into its restaurant. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, The Pantry is a hidden gem at Dempsey Hills. Perhaps the biggest news is that the playground next to Kids21 is now open to diners at The Pantry for free, which makes this one of our favourite kid-friendly restaurants.

Younger kids and toddlers may find it difficult to climb up the treehouse, which is why there’s also some play equipment available next to the alfresco seating, so you can keep a close eye on your kids as you dine.

The Pantry has a specially curated menu that serves up a sumptuous selection of family favourites and comfort food. Share a wood-fired pizza among yourselves, opt for a healthy grain bowl, or fill your bellies with a Moroccan roasted half chicken. Tiong Bahru Bakery Safari is, without a doubt, one of the best kid-friendly cafes in Singapore. Kids love their space, and this place has it in spades. There’s an outdoor playground, plenty of jungle greenery to explore, and an edible garden to get busy in. There, you’ll spot adorable bunnies and chickens roaming around.

Tuck into a meal that’s packed with healthy ingredients made with fruits and herbs harvested straight from the on-site garden. Try one of the Power-Breakfast Jars, which has pandan-infused pineapple on rolled oats, soaked in black sesame milk.

The Tapioca Coconut Papaya is a hot favourite too, thanks to its milky sago base. Parents, you’ll definitely want to brighten your Instagram feed with the Tumeric Latte and Beetroot Latte. Unfortunately, you can’t make reservations – the café only allows walk-ins!

7. Food For Tots

Located in Singapore Botanic Garden’s Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden, the kid-friendly café aims to instil an appreciation for the environment in children. Think upcycled colander light installation, recycling bins, and a potted herb wall. There are also regular programmes such as Food Crafternoon and Nature Bingo Trail.

However, the real why the café is in on our list is because of its delicious meals and attractive kids’ menu. Besides the usual pasta, meatballs, and fish and chips, there are also more sophisticated options for your little gourmands.

The DIY burger comes deconstructed for the little ones to assemble however they wish. Yoghurt bowls with mixed berries, banana slices and a drizzle of honey, as well as the Kids Works, which has crispy bacon and scrambled eggs on brioche toast, are miniature versions of adult meals. Your tiny tot will feel like a grown-up here.

The sand play area is right next door to the café, but if you want to keep your kids directly in view, Food For Tots also has a small play area for toddlers in the café. There are simple games and a trolley full of books to keep them entertained.

9. Super Loco

Super Loco’s outdoor tables are often lined with Bugaboo strollers and scooters. Once you’ve settled into this bright brunch spot, though, you’ll see why it’s such a hit with families.  The funky décor, an abundance of high chairs, and a tasty brunch menu is perfect for parents and kids.

10. Cafe Melba

This breezy, Aussie-style eatery has expanded its menu with local favourites such as beef rendang and chicken tikka masala. For the little ones, the kid-friendly set menu includes the usual crowd-pleasers: pancakes, pasta, and pizza with a choice of fruit juice or milk and a scoop of ice-cream.

On Mondays, Cafe Melba at Goodman Arts Centre pulls out all the stops for a kid-friendly atmosphere, so you can relax and let your kids run free on the lawn. From 3pm, they’ll have a bouncy castle up. And from 5pm to 8pm, they’ll set up a little arts and crafts corner for the kids to have an art jamming session. Plus, your little ones can eat free all day every Monday with the purchase of a main meal. This excludes the eve of and on public holidays.

One of our favourite kid-friendly restaurants to feast at is Open Farm Community. This farm-to-table restaurant is on everyone’s lips for a good reason. Apart from thriving beds of kale, thyme, and Italian basil, you’ll find a huge kids’ sandpit, a family grocer garden, quirky sculptures, and a Common Man Coffee Roasters to get your caffeine fix.

Smack in the heart of Bishan Park lies Grub, a burger bistro that’s surrounded by lush greenery. Its menu is inspired by local flavours with a touch of Japanese influence, made with fresh produce from all over the world. Kids can run around and scoot to their heart’s content before winding down with a Milo Float.
