Here’s a list of restaurants with something new to offer in January – including Norwegian and North Indian cuisines!

It is finally 2022 and if you’re wondering if there’s anything new that you can look forward to trying this month, you’re in luck!

Channel your inner foodie and visit these restaurants, both existing and new for exciting new treats that will surely tantalise your tastebuds. Some of these menus are only available for a limited period of time, so do be sure to check them out before they’re gone.

New menus

1. The Grand Lobby

The Grand Lobby at Raffles Hotel Singapore is launching a brand new menu for their Afternoon Tea this month.

Dive into Norway’s unique coastal culinary traditions with Norwegian-inspired sweet and savoury treats like the Pastrami Sandwich with Tangy Mayonnaise, Avocado Hash with Smoked Salmon and Semi-Boiled Quail Egg, and Rollmops with Beetroot and Horseradish Cream.

These treats will be served on a beautiful three-tiered stand alongside The Grand Lobby’s signature home-made original and raisin scones that are filled with clotted cream and strawberry rose jam.

Choose to pair these pastries with either a cup of tea or coffee.

2. La Dame de Pic

Did you know that Lady Gaga actually collaborated with Dom Pérignon to launch a limited edition bottle of champagne?

Well, if you’re curious about its taste, don’t worry. You can now have a taste of this vintage champagne right here in Singapore along with a specially curated menu by Chef Anne-Sophie Pic at La Dame de Pic.

The menu features an assortment of canapés and amuse bouche, followed by Koshihikari Rice with Oscietra Caviar, Berlingots which is delicate pasta parcels filled with French cheese fondue in a beetroot broth, Blue Lobster from Brittany, Picodon Cheese with Kalamata Olives, and Williams Pear and White Tea as dessert.

The courses are all uniquely crafted to complement the vintage champagne, so you’re bound to have a great time.

3. Buona Terra

You can’t say that you love truffle until you’ve tried white truffle. This precious gem is only available in the fall in the fertile land of Alba, Italy.

Enjoy it in all its glory when you dine at Buona Terra, where Resident Chef Denis Lucchi has a splendid line-up of specials that complement the aroma and earthy notes of white truffle in the form of four-course and five-course set menus.

Savour creations like the White Truffle Egg Soufflé with Saffron and Parmesan Cheese Sauce, Poached Egg with White Truffle, Smoked Potato and Mushrooms, and a classic Tagliolini with Butter Emulsion, Parmesan Cheese and White Truffle.

4. Da Paolo Dempsey Restaurant & Bar

Looking for something a little more casual? Head on down to Da Paolo Dempsey Restaurant & Bar where you can enjoy an exclusive white truffle menu while enjoying the lush tropical views of Dempsey Hill.

Start the meal with an Australian Angus Beef Carpaccio (S$24++), followed by a decadent hand-stretched Wood-fired Naples Style Pizza, Pumpkin, Mozzarella, Mascarpone, Burrata (S$35++), and a creamy Risotto al Prosecco (S$37++). Choose to top these dishes off with some white truffle shavings for that umami taste.

Do take note that the prices stated above do not include the white truffle, and if you choose to add on the white truffle, you will be charged at market price based on gram per consumption.

5. Zafferano Italian Restaurant & Lounge

Zafferano Italian Restaurant & Lounge is another restaurant that you can visit if you’re intending to try out the precious gem, white truffle.

You can choose to add white truffle to any dish on the menu at S$18++ per gram, but if you’re interested to find out what’s good, the chefs at Zafferano Italian Restaurant & Lounge recommend that you order the Wagyu Beef Tenderloin Tartare with Beluga Capers, Smoked Egg Yolk, and Aged Balsamic Vinegar (S$28++).

6. Tiffin Room

Take a culinary trip to North India when you dine at Tiffin Room of Raffles Hotel Singapore. Their latest Flavours of Rajasthan menu presents a delectable range of dishes inspired by the North Indian state’s rich culinary traditions.

Chef Kuldeep has crafted this menu to accurately depict the region’s uniqueness, with flavourful dishes crafted from milk, yogurt, lentils, and chickpeas. Despite using such simple ingredients, the food is elevated by a cooking style that will present you a combination of robust and unforgettable flavours.

Enjoy dishes such as Murgh Mokul, which is succulent chicken breast cooked with yogurt, almond paste, and ground mace, Banjara Gosht, which is juicy lamb chops cooked with onions, coriander seeds, and cardamom, and Dal Batti Churma, which is yellow lentil curry served with a side of wheat dough balls and ghee.

Tiffin Room also offers a vegetarian set menu that is just as mouth-watering.

7. CÉ LA VI

Usher in the Year of the Tiger by celebrating with a festive set menu offered by CÉ LA VI! Gather your loved ones for an intimate six-course set dinner with a spectacular view of Singapore’s skyline from the 57th floor.

Each course on the menu is themed with auspicious Chinese wishes so that we can start 2022 right. The set menu kicks off with Prosperity Yu Sheng that comes with fresh slices of salmon, peanut, sesame, honey plum sauce, and lotus chips.

Enjoy Longevity when you relish the Hokkaido Scallop Ceviche and Clam with Baeri Oscietra Caviar that is seasoned with yuzu koshu, and embrace Harmony with Grilled King Prawns cooked in togarashi spice and topped with curry leaf oil.

8. Small’s

Small’s is a quaint little omakase restaurant that opened back in February 2020 serving mainly artisanal pizza. Now, the chef behind Small’s, Bjorn Shen, is proud to announce that Small’s will be having a new concept of omakase this January.

The new concept will see raw, cooked, and cured seafood on bread that is made from high hydration, long-aged doughs instead of sushi rice, like the ones we are used to.

This bread sushi experience is definitely going to be an interesting one, and the menu starts off with three snacks, followed by eight to 10 bread sushi, one hotpot, and two sweets.

You can only book a reservation for up to five people for one seating from 18 January 2022 onwards, and since this is a very small restaurant with limited seating, a payment guarantee needs to be paid upfront. Forfeits will be applied if you end up doing a late cancellation or if you don’t show up.

New restaurants

9. House of WÈI

A brand new modern Chinese restaurant concept has opened in the space that originally belonged to the former Szechuan Court. House of WÈI offers a plethora of contemporary dishes that are inspired by Master Chinese Chef Mok Wan Lok’s 42-year rich culinary journey.

Some dishes that you can expect are the Mok-Style Shanghainese Braised Lion Head that was created by Chef Mok when he was in Shanghai and Crispy Pork Rib Espresso Kahlua that was cooked up by him when he was working in Kuala Lumpur.

You can also look forward to dishes like the Jackfruit Sweet and Sour Chicken, Oven Roasted Cod with Soy and Balsamic, and Wok Fried Venison with Sakura Shrimp and Fermented Soy Bean Sauce.

Since the Lunar New Year is approaching us very soon, House of WÈI will feature a number of festive set menus that you can indulge in. The set menus will begin from the eight-course Auspicious 如意吉祥 Set Menu.

10. Estate and Ginger Lily

Estate and Ginger Lily are two new restaurant concepts that will be opening under Hilton Singapore Orchard. They will officially launch on 1 March 2022, but Hilton Singapore Orchard is giving us a sneak peek into the two concepts by organising a two-day pop-up dining event this January.

Estate is a modern all-day dining buffet restaurant while Ginger Lily is a floral-inspired lounge and bar.

Treat yourself to either a four-course set lunch or a six-course set dinner along with a complimentary pairing of a welcome mocktail, as well as coffee and tea.

Some of the dishes that you can look forward to are Gochujang Chicken Tacos, Singapore-Style Popiah with Soft Shell Crab, Black Truffle Roasted Duck, and an exquisite Ginger Lily dessert composing of Black Tea Roll, Williams Pear and Peach Compote, and Homemade Ginger Lily Jam.
