We went for a unique bar crawl to try out a new line of cocktail-meets-dessert creations that will satisfy bar goers and ice cream lovers

Known as a crowd-favourite ice-cream brand boasting a wide range of both classic and unique flavours, Häagen-Dazs has recently resurfaced on our radar following its premium alcohol series launch.

To celebrate this new tropical-centric collection, the brand has collaborated with various bars and restaurants across the island to create an all-new ice cream experience for dessert lovers to indulge in.

Using new flavours like Lime Mojito and Piña Colada, these watering holes have come up with a truly irresistible mix of masterful cocktail-meets-dessert creations that are now available at IB HQ, Potato Head, Swissotel Merchant Court, and Sofitel Singapore City Centre respectively.

AVENUE ONE had the opportunity to join Haägen-Dazs on a bar crawl to try out the different concoctions – read on to find out what we think about them!

IB HQ

Tucked in a cosy shophouse corner along Duxton Road, IB HQ is the go-to spot for those who enjoy trying out different kinds of eclectic flavours and creations.

Smokey Pina Colada

First on IB HQ’s Bartenders Table menu is the Smokey Pina Colada (S$25++), an artistic deconstruction of the piña colada.

Made with lapsang souchong-inspired rum, longan honey, and fresh lime juice, this cocktail is served in a mini teapot where you pour your desired amount over three small scoops of the Haägen Dazs Piña Colada Ice Cream.

The rum surprised our taste buds at the first sip and while it was too strong for our liking, we think that rum lovers out there will certainly appreciate this concoction.

Tafia

Following that, we had a taste of Tafia (S$24++) which is a signature mojito made with an Asian twist.

Starting with an invigorating base of freshly squeezed yuzu and sparkling sake, it is then served with a zesty scoop of the Haägen-Dazs Lime Mojito Sorbet. The refreshing fruitiness of this drink will definitely have you feeling like you’re soaking up the sun on your favourite beach with this cocktail in hand!

This was personally our favourite creation of the night as it not only brought out the distinct taste of the Haägen-Dazs Lime Mojito Sorbet but also ended on a sweet fruity note, making it the cocktail you’ll want to quench your thirst with after a long and hot day.

Potato Head

Affogato

You’re probably familiar with Potato Head by now or have seen its Insta-worthy rooftop making rounds on your social media feed. From now till the end of May, head down to either Potato Head’s rooftop bar or Studio 1939 Den (which is on the third floor of Potato Head) to wind down with a La Pina Affogato (S$12++).

This creation features the Haägen-Dazs Piña Colada Ice Cream bathed in the bar’s house-made calamansi and pineapple reduction, which is then finished with a handful of freshly baked coconut butter oat crumble to give you a nice crunch.

This concoction was on the top of our favourites list too; not only did it make the perfect boozy dessert that can be enjoyed any time of the day but every mouth we had of it also packed a punch of sweet and tangy flavours that sent our taste buds dancing.

Oh, did we also mention that the cookie crumble topping is just as equally addictive as the Lotus Biscoff cookies that we were once all obsessed with? Yummy!

For something light, go for the Apple Crumble Cider Float (S$20++).

With a combination of apple crumble and a classic cider that’s topped with the Haägen-Dazs Piña Colada Ice Cream, you definitely won’t go wrong with this refreshingly tasty creation.

To enjoy this thirst-quenching combination to its fullest, we recommend that you enjoy it with some delicious finger food!

Pandan Mojito Shake

Next on the menu is the Pandan Mojito Shake (S$20++), a creation inspired by local flavours and made with a unique blend of Haägen-Dazs Lime Mojito Sorbet, rum, mint, fresh milk, and pandan.

For those who particularly enjoy pandan-based local kuehs and cakes, we think this will definitely be up your alley!

The baristas at the Riverside Kiosk also whipped up family-friendly mocktail options as well! There’s the Classic Float (S$15++) that’s made with soda and topped with a scoop of classic Haägen-Dazs Vanilla Ice Cream.

If you fancy something more exotic, ask for the Dragon Fruit Shake (S$15++) – it’s a gorgeous blend of red dragon fruit, lapsang souchong tea, and milk that comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream as well.
