What happens with LA-based egg sandwich chain Eggslut meets local restaurant chain Jumbo Seafood?
They bring you the limited-edition Chilli Crab Sandwich (S$16) and Chilli Crab Slut (S$12), in time for National Day celebrations. These sandwich items available from 7 July to 30 September at both Eggslut outlets in Suntec City and Scotts Square.
Imagine a delightful combination of Jumbo’s renowned chilli crab sauce infused with crab meat, complemented by Eggslut’s cage-free scrambled eggs and crisp baby romaine lettuce. All of this goodness is nestled within a soft brioche bun, eliminating the need for mantou.
The amount of crab meat is generous and the chilli crab sauce fragrant with sufficient spicy kick. Get your napkins ready too as it can get slightly messy.
As for the “slut” variant, it traditionally includes a gently cooked egg placed on a bed of potato puree, served in a jar with slices of baguette. In the chilli crab version, you’ll find a layer of Jumbo’s spicy sauce mixed with crab meat between the egg and potato.
This is surprising a great combination too and allows you to enjoy the taste of chilli crab even more.
