Serene Ambience
The cafe is near to the Chinese Garden MRT Station but I took a short walk from the Jurong Lake Garden carpark, which was pleasant and helped me work up an appetite.

Eden Cafe has a minimalist decor and full-length windows that allowed diners to dine in beautiful natural light. The full-length windows also helped show off the lush environment it is surrounded by.

As the rain was approaching, I decided against alfresco dining and sat comfortably indoors. The soft music and cooling air instantly helped me get into a relaxed mood and I was ready for food and people-watching.
What to Order

I heard from the waiting staff that Creamy Avocado & Buttermilk Fried Cod Fish Pasta (S$24) is popular among diners and it was indeed a highlight for me.
Fresh pasta was enveloped in a velvety avocado cream sauce, offering a lighter alternative to the traditional pesto pasta. The buttermilk fried cod fish was a delightful surprise — crispy, light, and flaky without any heaviness. This dish is a clever reinterpretation of fish and chips, blended harmoniously with pasta, providing the richness of fried fish with the fresh, creamy undertones of avocado.

Another memorable dish was the Singaporean Har Cheong Gai Waffles (S$22). This unique combination of crispy shrimp paste fried chicken and fluffy Belgian waffles is an East-meets-West treat.
The chicken, packed with flavour, contrasted nicely with the waffles, though I would have preferred a more fragrant waffle base. However, the spiced maple syrup brought the dish together, adding an extra layer of complexity to this fusion comfort food.

For a quick bite, the Tiger Prawn Roll (S$8 for 5 pieces) is a must-try. Crispy, juicy prawn rolls served with a tangy Nyonya achar make for an addictive snack that you’ll be reluctant to share — perfectly fried and packed with flavour.

To cool down, the Lychee Green Tea (S$6) and Osmanthus, Wolfberry & Pear Refresher (S$8) were excellent drink options. The green tea had a delicate balance of bitter and fruity notes, while the pear refresher was ideal after a walk around the gardens — light and refreshing, perfect for a hot day.
I was too full from the main course that I had to forgo desserts. However, if you have the tummy for it, Eden Cafe has a huge selection of gelato, which will definitely round up your meal perfectly with a sweet ending.
