Enjoy a sumptuous spread at The Gyu Bar. The beef specialist presents an exclusive a la carte menu showcasing Hida wagyu and Okinawa eggs in its Easter menu, which is available for lunch and dinner, for dine-in only.

For the uninitiated, Hida wagyu from Gifu Prefecture is a breed of Japanese black cattle that is raised for at least 14 months. Earning the title of the Best Carcass Award in 2012, 2013 and 2015, Hida wagyu yields beautifully marbled meat that is tender and full of flavour.

Besides the award-winning beef, the menu also highlights eggs from Sesoko Youkeji Farm, Okinawa Prefecture. Whether served fully cooked or raw, Japanese eggs are sure to bring out the flavours and richness of wagyu for a delightful dining experience.

Highlights include a starter of Wagyu Tamago Yaki (S$12++ for 3 pieces) that features layers of omelette encasing sirloin slices that are slow-cooked in a sweet sujini sauce for 24 hours, and Wagyu Kushi Katsu with Egg Yolk Dip (S$28++) – a skewer of deep-fried Hida wagyu sirloin katsu, paired with sukiyaki dip and a raw egg yolk.

You can also look forward to hearty one-bowl dishes comprise of Japanese curry rice and ochazuke.

The Ishiyaki Wagyu Tamago Chazuke (S$48++) brings forth the rich flavours of Hida wagyu in two styles. Steamed Hokkaido rice, sirloin slices, raw egg yolk, shio kombu, spring onions, nori, and sesame seeds are first mixed in a hot stone bowl. The flavoursome rice can be enjoyed on its own, or as a comforting chazuke with a generous pour of house-made dashi and oolong tea.
