45 F&B spots that offer discounts when you bring your own container

Two men walk into a bar, one orders a drink while the other already has his own cup ready – and we’re not joking. This is certainly the latest phenomenon on our Singaporean streets, where a significant number of consumers are becoming eco-conscious with metal straws and lunchboxes, while some still remain oblivious to the need for such a movement. We would like to believe that what sparked this positive change is NGO Zero Waste SG, which has actively created conversations about eliminating waste and the three Rs.

To further nudge the demographic towards their mission, they kickstarted a Bring Your Own (BYO) Campaign that partnered with over 800 retail outlets to provide discounts for those that bring their own reusables. This not only rewards those already contributing towards sustainability but also encourages more Singaporeans to do so.

So whether you are an environmental activist, a turtle lover, or just hunting for ways to save money, here are 45 outlets that would aid both the earth and your bank balance:

1. Toast Box

A well-loved spot for vegans, Well Dressed Salad Bar lives up to its name and more. While they do provide a great customisable salad that is a staple in their wholly vegan menu, they also serve meatless burgers that even meat-lovers would devour. Vegan bakeries are a rarity in Singapore, and it is even harder to find one that does it well, which is why Well Dressed is so adored.

Now under the BYO campaign, this café seeks to reward those that practise eco-friendly ways with SGD0.50 to SGD1 discount when they bring their own bag, container or bottle. We recommend bringing a two containers: one for a hearty burger, and the other to fit a cake or two.
