4 bakers you can get cute cow-shaped pineapple tarts from this CNY!

With Chinese New Year just around the corner (that’s 12 February, in case you didn’t know!), most of us are probably shopping for new outfits and all the festive décor, goodies, and food!

While CNY gatherings can’t be as huge as they used to be, that doesn’t mean we can’t stock up on the usual festive indulgences such as bak kwa, love letters, and pineapple tarts.

And speaking of pineapple tarts, many bakeries and home bakers have gotten creative over the last few years with the pastry design. We’ve sank our teeth into cute piggies and adorable mice, and this year, we’re welcoming the Year of the Ox with cow-shaped pineapple tarts!

Scroll on down below to check out where you can get your hands on the limited-edition CNY goodies that we all love – with a bovine twist, of course.

Our advice? Place your orders ASAP if you want to enjoy them with your loved ones – these munchies are notorious for selling out way before the festive period.

Warning: They look so adorable, you might have a tough time digging in!

Munch on these quirky designs from Hatter Street Bakehouse & Café in Kovan. As you can see from the image, the pineapple tarts come in a mix of white and brown cows – some even sport nose rings!

Pre-orders are now open, with self-collection and delivery available from 22 January to 10 February. Each box of 15 pieces retails for S$23, and Hatter Street is even throwing in free delivery if you order five boxes and above.

To order, reach out to 9380 6563 (click on the number to send a WhatsApp message). Hatter Street Bakehouse & Café is located at 212 Hougang Street 21, #01-333, Singapore 530212.

You can also consider the sweet offering by this cookie baker called Chubby Munch. The handmade enclosed pineapple tarts don’t just have fillings all the way to the brim, they are also decorated with bovines donning traditional Chinese caps or holding mandarin oranges, fans or traditional gold bullion nuggets.

These tarts, which are baked freshly to order, go for S$28 for a box of 15 pieces. DM Chubby Munch to place your order.

Last but certainly not least, these chubby – and buttery – cow-shaped pineapple tarts from a home baker who set up shop on Carousell. Each box of 12 tarts retails for S$18, and collection can be made at Block 306, Hougang Avenue 5, Singapore 530306.

Bonus: Make your own bovine tart!

Well, this is not the moreish pineapple tarts we all know but they’re still very CNY-appropriate if you ask us! In the latest series of Baker’s Brew’s baking classes, you get to make your own tau huay (soybean pudding) tarts in original and chocolate flavours and treat your family to some irresistible pastries that taste as good as they look.

From what we know, half of the upcoming schedule has already been taken up and the remaining slots available are on 16 January, 5 February, and 10 February. To learn more or sign up for the baking class, click here.
