Copenhagen confectionery Leckerbaer debuts first overseas outlet at Isetan Scotts

You’ve seen news of Danes topping the Happiness Index Charts. Turns out the secret lies in deriving contentment from simple yet soul-warming activities – and leading Danish confectionery Leckerbaer is bringing just that to Singapore!

In their very first venture out of Copenhagen, the 36-seater patisserie, founded by Scandinavian Michelin-starred pastry chefs Jakob and Gabi Mogensen, will open its doors on 23 July 2020, 1pm, sharing its innovative take on traditional Danish butter cookies!

Take one look at them and you’ll know just how much detail goes into making these ultra-Instagrammable bakes! Colloquially known as småkager (smaw-kay-er), these picture-perfect cookies are made with Danish butter and the most premium of ingredients.

From its intricate details to the aromatic and textured butter base, Leckerbaer flaunts its craftsmanship through a menu of eight småkager (S$2.80/each) which features seasonal offerings on top of a rotating set of core flavours.

These include the Raspberry cookie, with two buttery cookies sandwiched between a generous dollop of jam, the palate-enticing Caramel cookie with a tart blueberry meringue alongside it and the Vanilla accentuated by a local tang of calamansi.

Choose from a wide selection of tarts, cakes and cookies as well! Highlights include the Summer Sundae (S$8) which features crispy cookie pieces, tangy sorbet, salted caramel, and smooth meringue – it’s everything you’d want in a dessert!

Or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, why not try the Signature Lemon & Sea Buckthorn Tart (S$7). With its buttery shortcrust packing a citrus tang accompanied with torched Italian meringue and lemon and sea buckthorn curd, that’s definitely something you don’t see in Singapore!

Not to mention the artisan teas, the fragrant Lemon & Verbena and fruity Hibiscus Blackberry, in their house-made lemonades (S$6.50) as well as their all-day brekkie (S$13) right in the heart of Singapore!

A customisable set of eight småkager or four småkager and any two cakes or tarts with two drinks are available for dine-in at just S$34.

Ahead of Leckerbaer’s opening, selections in 8, 12 and 16-piece sizes of småkager (S$22, S$32, and S$40 respectively) will be available for delivery and takeaway orders from 23 July 2020. The patisserie is now open for pre-orders, with free delivery for orders above S$100.

Available on Delieveroo, Foodpanda, Chope and Grabfood from 23 July 2020.

Open daily from 10am to 9pm, Leckerbaer’s first overseas outlet will be located at 350 Orchard Road, #01-K2 & #01-K3, Shaw House, Isetan Scotts, Singapore 238868.
