Animal-free celebrity-loved ice-cream brand Coolhaus is now in Singapore

What ice-cream does celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Alba, and Zendaya enjoy? Coolhaus, apparently.

Founded in 2009 at the Coachella Valley Music Festival by Natasha Case and Freya Estreller, Coolhaus started as an ice cream truck converted from a postal, and a national fleet of trucks and scoop shops.

While these trucks and shops aren’t available in Singapore yet, Coolhaus has brought a selection of its delicious flavours to Singapore including Peanut Butter ‘N Fudge, Mint Chocolate Chip, Molten Chocolate, Vanilla, Cookies ‘N Crème, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

What makes Coolhaus… well, cool, is its use of Perfect Days animal-free dairy, which it claims produce 97% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than traditional dairy protein. This protein is also entirely animal-, lactose-, cholesterol-, hormone-, and antibiotic-free.

How does Coolhaus’ ice-cream taste

We’ve tried several vegan ice-cream and while they may be delicious, you can clearly tell that they have swapped dairy ingredients for non-dairy ones. For Coolhaus, it is surprisingly not noticeable at all – its ice-cream tastes pretty much like a good dairy-based ice-cream.

Of the flavours, we really enjoyed the Molten Chocolate, which comes with chewy chocolate cake bites, rich fudge swirls, all hidden within a smooth chocolate ice-cream. This is an indulgent treat that you’ll enjoy if you’re a chocoholic or if you’re looking for something more decadent.

If you prefer a refreshing dessert, then the Mint Chocolate Chip flavour will be up your alley. This features dark chocolate chips complemented by the uplifting taste of fresh mint leaf.
