As much as we have all gotten used to being cooped up here at home, we know many of you are probably still reminiscing your café-hopping days in Korea where there were countless unique café concepts to visit.
Well, here’s something you may not have noticed: Singapore has definitely been catching up on the café scene with more unique concepts opening up on our sunny island!
Adding to your list of cafés to check out this month is Coexist Coffee, a new rooftop café that has just opened its doors this week.
We first caught sight of this café on RED – China’s version of Instagram – and it instantly caught our attention because it looked exactly like those hipster cafés you would find in Korea with its sleek and dreamy interior.
Fun fact: the same space that Coexist Coffee resides in now used to house a dining canteen which explains the red-tiled flooring of the café – and the owners of Coexist Coffee chose to retain it for their outlet.
And the coolest part? Coexist Coffee is actually located on the rooftop of an industrial building in Hillview! Who would have thought such an old building would house this beautiful hidden gem on the highest level?
As you dine in the café, soak in the panoramic view of the Hillview and Bukit Timah estate that we guarantee will calm your senses after a busy week of work.
And for those who reside in the East, we guess you now have a reason to rope in your best friend or significant other on a journey to the West to check out this new hidden spot!

With the café’s picturesque view and stylish furnishings, we’re certain you’ll be spending a lot of time here snapping away for the ‘gram while catching up on life.
Apart from its unique location and trendy interior, Coexist Coffee serves up some really good food too, offering an all-day breakfast menu as well as various hearty mains.
One of the signatures on the menu is the Coexist Breakfast (S$22).
This generous breakfast set comes with streaky bacon, sausage, herbed mushroom, hand-cut potato, sourdough bread, and is finished with eggs cooked according to your preferred style.
If you love the modern café vibes but want to chow on local flavours instead, Coexist Coffee has you covered with the Chili Crab Shakshuka (S$16) that comes with chilli crab sauce that’s packed with generous slivers of crab meat, deep-fried mantou, and a perfectly poached egg.
This dish may get a little overwhelming with its extremely rich flavours so we highly suggest you share it with a friend.
For something fancier, you might want to give the Squid Ink Fried Rice (S$26) a try. It’s made with a base of squid ink rice that is then topped with perfectly charred baby squid pieces and paprika prawn ikura.
A café visit is definitely not complete without a cup of joe. Coexist Coffee is equipped with a complete coffee-making set-up, producing high-quality aromatic coffee that leaves a pleasant lingering aroma in the space.
Offering various types of brews in both iced and hot options, you’ll be spoiled for choice with the coffee menu over at Coexist Coffee.
For those who aren’t into coffee, fret not as the café also serves chocolate-based drinks for chocolate lovers as well as fresh cold-pressed juices.
