Now you can have a bubble tea cake for your birthday – or as an after-meal treat

We know why you’re reading this article: you’re a die-hard bubble tea fan and can’t get enough of chewy tapioca pearls.

Now you can have your bubble tea and eat it too – in the form of the latest creation by Parisian patisserie and restaurant, Antoinette.

The Earl Grey Bubble Tea (S$9/S$42.50/S$85) is an ogura cake that is designed to look like a cup of bubble tea – see that layer of “cheese foam” over the “tea”? It is actually a thick layer of salted cream cheese Chantilly.

The light and spongy cake enhances the rich expression of earl grey tea. It comes with toppings of fresh mango cubes and tapioca pearls steeped in aromatic Okinawa black sugar syrup, which don’t just look fun but give the cake an interesting texture.

Don’t forget to snap some photos for the ‘gram before you dig in – we’re quite sure this is Instagram-worthy.

Besides the bubble tea cake, Antoinette has also refreshed its menu with a collection of souffle pancakes (S$16++) in a variety of flavours, including berries, ondeh ondeh, and creme brulee.

For something heartier, consider the Wagyu Beef Cheek Tagliatelle (S$28++). It is one of the new classic pasta dishes added to the menu, and is served with truffle foam.

Or go for the Schiacciata (S$18++), a traditional flatbread that is luxuriously stuffed with melted camembert, pecorino, and bits of truffle for a rich aroma. Antoinette’s version is served with honey and a sunny side-up on the side for dipping.
