Yup, what was once Police Married Quarters has now been converted into a creative hub containing a slew of design studios, restaurants, and more! This boxy building is actually home to countless young entrepreneurs and indie enterprises, which means you’re guaranteed to pick up a few unique pieces and souvenirs here.

They also have regular pop-up stores and eye-catching exhibits that are sure to make the most gorgeous (and unique!) photos, so keep your eyes peeled if you decide to make a visit.

2. Broadway Cinematheque

The venue to several notable film festivals such as the Asian Film Festival, the Korean Film Festival, as well as the Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, Broadway Cinematheque also houses a visually stunning bookstore, café, and DVD store that is sure to look amazing on the ‘gram.

Serving up traditional Bao burgers with a twist, Little Bao is known to be one of the best new hipster spots in Hong Kong that you just can’t miss out on.

Not only can you get some great photos at their adorable storefront, you can also enjoy delectable eats loaded with a variety of fillings such as braised pork belly, Szechuan chicken, and even ice cream! Bear in mind that the queues get long fast, though, so make sure to head down earlier before they all sell out completely.

4. MOM Livehouse

An underground venue space that allows for amazing live performances, MOM Livehouse is the up-and-coming space in HK these days. The line-up alternates frequently, but you can check their Facebook for frequent updates as to who will be performing for the night.

According to the reviews, it’ll be an experience like no other! Our very own Sam Willows performed there as well and loved it, so if that isn’t a glowing commendation, we don’t know what is.

5. Oddies Foodies

Oddies Foodies may not be new to Hong Kong per se, but the dessert joint’s second outlet is definitely quieter and more visually appealing that their first takeaway only joint.

Head up the stairs to the length of tables to enjoy their yummy gelato or head down to the picturesque streets to get a shot of you biting into their perfectly crisp waffles. Oh, and remember to order their quintessential egglets, of course!

Located on the Upper and Lower Lascow Row in the Sheung Wan District, the lanes are full of antiques and unique knickknacks that undoubtedly make up one of the new hipster spots in Hong Kong that has all the cool kids buzzing.

Coffee lovers are sure to swoon at one of the best new hipster spots in Hong Kong! Located in an up and coming district and known to have one of the best coffees and brunches around, Cupping Room is also conveniently located close by to Sheung Wan MTR stop, which makes it super easy to grab a quick brunch or bite before heading out for the rest of your day.

The minimalist furniture and clean, sleek design also makes it ideal for an Instagram shot or two but be warned: it can be pretty hard to get a table once the work crowds come flooding in.

8. Hong Kong Global Geopark

10. Mum’s Not Home

With greenery spilling out just about everywhere, interesting knickknacks (did you see those plant-holders that are a pair of feet?) and strange drink concoctions, Mum’s Not Home is the ultimate café space for all the hipsters out there.

They don’t serve full-on meals, but you can get drinks and coffee whilst listening to a live band. Yup, apparently they get local indie bands to come in to play from time to time, though we’re told that Mayday made a surprise appearance once. Nice!

11. Teakha

Expect to get gorgeous specialty tea, cakes, and brunch over at Teakha. Seriously, they have over 19 different tea brews on its menu alone, as well as classic brunch favourites such as avocado toast and pancakes.

Their appeal also lies in the stunning shopfront and interior, though. Pose by the bar counter whilst sipping on your tea, or against the mint green walls inside decorated with various plants and greenery.

Can you say perfect Instagram shot or what? With all this at their fingertips, it’s no surprise that they’re considered to be one of the best new hipster spots in Hong Kong, really.
