By now, you would probably have already seen the strange sneakers that have been taking the world by storm – the Indomie Air Jordan sneakers.

If you are a sneakerhead who loves collecting the quirkiest sneaker designs, or simply are not a big fan of Indomie, here are 11 other weird (but oddly intriguing) sneakers that we know you will either love or loathe.

1. Adidas Pepperoni Pie Sneakers

Ever wished you could find a way to profess your love for pepperoni pizza through your shoes? Turns out that you are not the only one who thought the same way.

This pair was created as part of a special collaboration between Adidas and Refinery 29, wherein 11 female artists designed one-off footwear pairs representing all 50 American states. Can you guess which state this pair of shoes is a tribute to?

2. Adidas Shrimp & Grits Sneaker

Shrimp & grits is a traditional breakfast dish in coastal Carolina and Georgia, although we think this you could possibly pass this off as ebi and sashimi.

3. Adidas Memphis-Style Barbecue Shoe

Although the shoe is clearly named ‘Memphis-Style Barbecue’, you could definitely wear this to any meat grill place: Korean BBQ, Thai mookata, Brazilian churrasacia  – anything your heart’s (and stomach’s) desires!

4. Nike Chicken and Waffles Dunks

Korea has chicken and beer (‘chimaek’), while America has chicken and waffles. You might get hungry whenever you wear this pair of kicks, but we highly recommend that you don’t eat them – you can always get this American dish at Popeyes instead.

Get Nike Chicken and Waffles Dunks at USD235 here.

5. Saucony Shadow 5000 “Burger” Shoe

Don’t dismiss this as just another collectible: many customers have said that this low-top casual shoe can be worn for many hours straight without tiring the feet. That makes these “burger” shoes a perfect pair to wear when you are queuing up for Shake Shack and Five Guys – don’t you think?

Get Saucony Shadow 5000 “Burger” Shoe at USD409.99 here.

6. Dada Code M MP3

This is the only pair of shoes to be reviewed by technies, and apparently the only complaint they have is that the storage space is too limited at 124MB.

The Dada Code M MP3 can broadcast your music to your wireless headphones, or play your music over the built-in speakers in the shoes. Whichever way you prefer to listen to your music, one thing’s for sure: you really don’t want anyone to step on or kick your shoes by accident.

7. Converse CT Thong Sandal

Is this a pair of sandals, or a pair of slippers? We really don’t know.

However, what we do know is that some people will absolutely love this – just ask those who always take off their covered shoes on buses and planes.

8. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star High & Low – Clear

Ever wished that you could show the world your cute BTS socks? Converse clearly (no pun intended) understands your pain, and that’s why they put a twist on the classic Converse sneakers by replacing the canvas with transparent plastic.

Just don’t forget to wear socks, because condensation from your sweaty feet will definitely show.

9. Adidas Originals Teddy Bear

If anyone tells you that you are too old to be playing with teddy bears, be defiant and make a statement with these absolutely adorable shoes.

Designed by famous American designer Jeremy Scott, this design has won the hearts of many fans. Although there have been subsequent spin-offs (think pink teddy bears, camo teddies, and even neon-coloured, flower-printed bears), this is the pair that made it socially acceptable to wear your toys on your shoes. Maybe.

Get Adidas Originals Teddy Bear at USD459.99 here.

10. Adidas Kobe II Shoes

Some have called this ‘the worst signature sneaker in history’ and ‘an act of terror’.

However, others pointed out that basketball legend Kobe Bryant actually played and won games in this pair of shoes – the fact that he still won despite giving himself such a handicap in his games is proof of his skills. You could do the same and challenge your friends to a basketball game in these shoes that oddly resemble a computer mouse.

11. Irregular Choice ‘Return of the Jaunty’ Sneakers

Star Wars fans can consider adding this pair of sneakers to their merchandise collection.

The shoes are illuminated by flashing lights in each sole, and adorned with sugar skull-inspired Darth Vader tongues, shimmery purple patches, and even zipper pockets (to store your movie ticket stubs, maybe?)
