16. Sum Yi Tai – Permanently Closed

Sum Yi Tai pays tribute to glamorous Hong Kong in the 1980s. The name of the restaurant is translated as “the third wife” in English. The interior of the club stays true to its theme by having mahjong walls, dimmed red lanterns in the midst of having Canto-pop music pumping through the speakers. They also have a back room cocktail lounge, a private karaoke room as well as a rooftop bar!

When dining here, try the Chilled Jelly Fish with Citrus Dressing, a light dish to refresh your palate, a Double Boiled Black Chicken with Chinese Herbs which will remind you of home and familiarity and Wok Fried Sweet Sour Pork with Lychee, a popular local dish with a fruity twist!

To our Friends‘ enthusiasts, yes, this is the cafe of your dreams! Chill along with your real friends in this decked-out cafe that’s furnished with iconic furniture such as the neon lights, orange sofa, green sofa, and the brick walls. They even have the stage all fans know, so step right up and sing till your heart’s content. In another corner of the cafe, you can find Monica’s kitchen decorated with real food ingredients, which can make for the perfect Instagram photo.

A couple of recommended signatures to try are Oh My God Baby Back Ribs, featuring a medium iberico pork and Joey’s Fisherman Stew, a favourite for seafood lovers, it contains mussels, clams, octopus, salmon, and prawns. Our mouths are watering already!
