The craft beers at Nickeldime are definitely a must-try! There are 19 international craft beers from the US, UK, Japan, Denmark, Germany, and Belgium served on tap on a rotational basis, which means that every visit to Nickeldime will be a surprise. 6. Sixteen Ounces Craft Beer Bistro

Sixteen Ounces is the first craft beer shop established in the Western region of Singapore, with a menu of eight types of craft beers on tap and over 40 bottled craft beers, craft ciders, and organic sodas. Besides their drink selection, Sixteen Ounces is also known for their bar bites, most notably the Ghost Wings – a set of six chicken wings drenched in a generous amount of red ghost chilli pepper sauce.

TAP is an open concept bar with two outlets in the city. It has 20 craft beers from international sources on rotation on their taps, such as Eight-Ball Stout and Rye Whiskey Barrel Piper Down. Druggists serves their tap beers in goblets, which is what caught our attention when we first stumbled upon this joint. Pair these specially curated beers with their highly-raved-about snacks like the Gooey Black Wings, Prawn Paste Wings, and Salmon Bites, while chilling out with your friends in the restored shop front of the former Chinese Druggists Association headquarters (hence the name of the bar!)

9. The 1925 Brewing Co.

The 1925 was founded in 2013 as a microbrewery and restaurant and still is to this day. It brews its own craft beer with cheeky, anecdote-filled names like Yellow Van, named after the yellow van that the founders’ grandfather used to drive, and Liang Teh, named as such due to the cooling properties of the chrysanthemum used in the production of the beer. The craft beer produced by The 1925 goes well with Asian dishes due to the incorporation of uniquely Asian ingredients.

Almost Famous is actually famous for its minimalistic decor and prime location in CHIJMES, as well as the many craft beers on its taps. 3rd Culture is truly a hidden treasure in Maxwell Food Centre and Old Airport Road Food Centre, both of which are known to be a food lover’s heaven. The range of craft beers sold at 3rd Culture are affordable and of a good variety, especially due to frequent rotations of the beers on tap. Pair your pints of beer with authentic local food that can be found all around the hawker centre; we’ve heard that craft beer goes really well with Hokkien Mee!

14. RedDot Brewhouse

The founding story of RedDot Brewhouse is nothing short of serendipitous. While holidaying at Kruger National Park, the owner met two South African soldiers who shared some homebrewed beer with him. This experience inspired him to pursue homebrewing, eventually leading him to set up RedDot Brewhouse. The brand has set up shop in a restored colonial bungalow in Dempsey Hill with a second outlet in Boat Quay, proudly serving up craft beers reflective of the owner’s decades of brewing experience.
