AVENUE ONE tried the buffet on a weekday evening and here are some standout highlights that should not be missed.

The Jjamppong at Peppermint is a sensory delight, an oceanic treasure trove brimming with fresh seafood, vegetables, and a fiery, flavourful broth.

The soup’s base is a harmonious blend of smoky, spicy, and umami notes, balanced by the sweetness of onions and the briny depth of seafood. Each sip invigorates your palate, while the bouncy ramyun provide a satisfying chew, making this dish a perfect representation of Korean comfort food with a spicy kick.

We also enjoyed the Bulgogi, which is a masterclass in marination and grilling. Slices of meat are bathed in a sweet and savoury marinade, which permeates the meat with rich, savoury flavours.

We were happy to see street food featured at the buffet line-up, and Peppermint’s Korean Corn Dog is one that you shouldn’t miss. Crunchy on the outside and hearty on the inside, this dish definitely takes us back to the Myeongdong streets.

The rest of Peppermint’s menu is equally enticing, offering everything from hearty stews like the Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) and Kkotgetang (Korean Crab Stew) to the vibrant and spicy Nakji Bokkeum (Spicy Stir-fried Giant Octopus with Cheese). Each dish is crafted with authentic ingredients and traditional techniques, ensuring an immersive and delightful dining experience.

For dessert, the DIY Ddalgi Bingsu station is a must-try. You can create your own version of this popular Korean shaved ice dessert, topped with fresh strawberries, sweet condensed milk, and other delightful toppings. It’s the perfect way to end your meal on a refreshing note.
